@sonics.lb ❤️ In South Lebanon, the basketball team “Sonics” emerged as a sports initiative aimed at empowering youth and promoting the role of sports in community reintegration. The team is not just a group of players; it forms a collective framework that goes beyond competition, creating a space for connection and active participation.

Player Abdallah Haidar describes the experience by saying that the team provided him with an environment to express himself and an outlet for his inner energy. His teammate, Abdallah Yassine, describes the team as “a family built on respect and collaboration,” highlighting the bonds of mutual support that have formed among them.

Adeeb Farhat, the team’s administrator, points to the players’ strong commitment to returning to training and participating in tournaments. He emphasizes that the team combines athletic activity with community engagement, taking part in awareness campaigns and social inclusion events. He adds that the team often ranks among the top in local competitions.

The Sonics Club represents a model of sports that goes beyond physical performance—serving as a tool for communication and solidarity, and as a space to rebuild social bonds within a local context marked by many challenges.
