⛓️OBSIDIAN PRESENTS: SONNS⛓️

Alexandre Mouracade (aka SONNS) has been steeped in the Los Angeles music scene for the better part of two and a half decades, and it is safe to say that he has changed the face and expression of the LA underground with prismatic force. He composes DJ sets that reflect his drive to dig deep without holding to specific genre - consistently unearthing tracks that have a timelessness to fit each moment on the floor.

SONNS lands in Phoenix next Saturday November 16 on the Apex Stage 🔜

Beyond excited for our next Making Shapes at our new venue...

Through many years throwing down in the legendary LA underground, we've strived to present not only cutting-edge and fundamental acts, but those that are quintessential in shaping the sound and the scene that we warmly and universally embrace. Thus for our next trick, the Shapes residents support a lucid trifecta in three acts…

From the late 80’s in Chicago, MYSTIC BILL has been woven into the fabric of dance music culture, releasing records on the legendary Trax label, and pushing the boundaries where house, acid, and industrial funk meet. With 30 plus years under his belt, Bill curates a rare and unique blend that leaves the floor writhing under his groove. Most recently seen flexing B2B with the one and only Honey Dijon, we’re deeply excited to hear what momentum he brings to our LA floor.

SEPEHR’S live sets began in late 2017, utilizing his immense production backlog to perform vivid and electric sets, from potent dance music to psychedelic and esoteric soundscapes. In recent years, this Bay Area native has released both an EP and a full-length on the infamous Dark Entries label. With his expansive live set, he is fixed to elicit a full physical experience for the listener, making them privy to the madness and elation of human experience.

WAREHOUSE PRESERVATION SOCIETY has been steady whipping through the scene as of late, delivering tracks for acclaimed cult labels Wicked, Rogue Cat, Shaboom, Machine Limited, Love on The Rocks and Fauve. But in the midst of last year, they knocked out a cracker of an EP for the illustrious Futureboogie Recordings as well, and their position was therein locked. This assiduous duo brings the steam pressure to the locomotive and churns up the floor like no other, so start your engines…

Accomplished producer, incomparable DJ, and full time #sexgod @__sonns is one of the club's best friends and something of a #daddy figure to us musically. His energy and passion for underground culture has imbued him with lifetimes worth of deep discotheque mastery that he applies to dancefloors around the globe. He was kind enough to curate the talent of the entire #AClubCalledRhonda evening tomorrow and I'm very excited for us all to be under one roof together awash in sophisticated and uncompromising sounds from a very sexually centered place. See y'all tomorrow xx 💋🐺
