How do we live with the non-human life? 🍂🐌🪱

This workshop is an invitation to start a practice of curiosity, reconnect with awe, and meet some of the small beings sharing the city with us. Together, we’ll step out of the attention economy and make room for wonder, even in the midst of climate change 🍄

Autumn is a season of change, rest, and decomposition. Through observation, our senses, and a closing collage session, we’ll explore the tiny worlds around us: leaves, mushrooms, moss, seeds, bark, spiderwebs, and the colors and textures of the season.

🍁No experience needed
🍄Materials provided

I had so much fun the first time around that I knew this was going to have to be a running series. So, here we go. 5 more accounts under 5k that I absolutely think you should be following.

Please consider giving them a follow and showing them some love. I swear they constantly inspire me to be a better birder and better photographer.

These creators again perfectly represent what is so amazing about the IG birding community. Please consider a repost so more users can see how amazing these people are.

This little Burrowing owl was found lying in a busy roadway. Likely the victim of a car strike. We advised the caller get him to Tucson Wildlife Center for veterinary evaluation. Incredibly, he suffered no serious injuries. He remained under precautionary observation a few days and was then sent up to ARC for placement where there are many active burrows along the agricultural fields. A very happy ending thanks to collaborative care! ::📸 Peggy Steffens & Dan Weisz

River otter encounter at Caw Caw! This critter snuck up on us while PROW hunting, watch until the end for the sweetest little pips and squeaks, I’ve never heard that noise from them before, neat! We also found a leach! I spared you from that content. You’re welcome. #cawcawinterpretivecenter #riverotter #southcarolinawildlife #swamplife

Audubon South Carolina bands Purple Martins on Dewees Island! Dewees island has multiple Purple Martins colonies, and each one is monitored and managed for success! Nest check data goes to the @purplemartinconservation association, and banding data goes to the bird banding lab. Banding the chicks helps us learn about chick survival, and dispersal from their natal colony. It also comes in handy if a chick falls out of its gourd, we can easily figure out which one it goes back into. Purple Martins in the Eastern US completely rely on humans for nesting structures, so if you’re interested in a real estate investment of the avian variety, check out the purple Martin conservation association! #purplemartin #birdbanding #migratorybirds all birds are banded with federal permits from the bird banding lab.
