𝐒𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐛𝐫𝐞 𝐨 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭

O post-punk hipnótico dos 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍 encheu-me as medidas. Efetivamente entraram no meu “radar musical”.

MLEKO 🇬🇧 10-10-2026 MLEKO are a seven-piece indie band, Ed Whirledge, vocals, guitar, Rory Baker, guitar, Tom Houston, saxophone, Charlotte Nuta, trumpet, keyboards, Myron Endean, bass, Ioan Saul, drums and Bruno Evans, guitar, synthesizer, from Manchester. They describe their sound as “Gub Rock” and signed to the independent label Heist or Hit in 2025.
MLEKO began during a period they jokingly called “MLEKO Summer Camp”, an informal, bedroom-based stretch of intensive music-making.
Charlotte's arrival is especially memorable, she saw them at their second gig, booked them for their third, and joined the band for their fourth. Bruno joined in September 2024, completing the seven-piece lineup.
One of the most interesting parts of MLEKO's early history is how much they experimented, at different points, they tried abrasive emo, synth-heavy Krautrock, and even a folk-inspired direction.
Eventually, they developed a distinctive sound combining noisy guitars, unusual song structures, brass instruments, quieter melodic passages, and explosive sections.
They jokingly called it “Gub Rock” because they didn't want to pin themselves down to one genre.
