Our beautiful community in the Bell Sleeve Dress! From taking it kayaking, to throwing it on for your morning coffee, it makes our hearts super happy hearing how this piece (that’s made with so much love) has been gracing your rituals. Thank you for the all the support on this one 🖤

Send us a pic of how you style your Australian Stitch basics for a feature, and maybe something a little extra…

Sewing is not just “women’s work,” and it is definitely not expendable, cheap labour.

Like any trade or craft, garment manufacturing requires years of learning techniques with precision, which then needs to be matched with rapid and consistent speed to keep up with production timelines.

Garment workers not only finally deserve respect for their incredible skill, but must be appropriately paid to work in a safe and non-exploitive environment - not just in Australia, but across the world.

Once you start to see it that way, you realise that locally and ethically made products aren’t “expensive” – they’re simply just priced in line with the amount of hands it takes to create that object for you to enjoy that wasn’t undercutting anyone.

So… when something feels “cheap,” ask yourself who paid the price.

We stand for basic human rights – and our basics help grow that.
