I am deeply thankful and honored to have been accepted into the @americanfilminstitute Cinematography Class of 2028.

It’s been a long, arduous journey of ups and downs. When I decided to pivot from journalism to film back in 2017, I didn’t know how scary this journey would be. I was overconfident, at the peak of the Dunning-Kruger effect. When I faced reality, when I found myself jobless for 6 months, I wondered if I’d made the wrong choice. But slowly but surely, I made friends, grew back my confidence bit by bit, and found myself doing what I’ve dreamed of doing since I was young. I was blessed to have parents who loved me and supported my overly ambitious dreams. I am forever in their debt.

I also met the love of my life. She’s stayed beside me throughout the whole journey. Positive, negative moments, we shared it all. She made me the cinematographer I am today. I will forever be her number one fan and be forever by her side.

Lastly, I’m thankful to every person who I had the pleasure of interacting and working with while on this journey. Filmmaking is a collaborative endeavor, and without the help and trust of these people, I would not have the career I have today. I love what I do, and you all made it happen.

What an awesome weekend filming in LA!!! Thank you again Soowan for casting me in your short film! It was an absolute pleasure and honor to work alongside you and your whole team! You ladiez and gents ROCK! I’ll reiterate on here what I told you in-person—what we do in front of the camera is meaningless without you rockstars behind the camera! You all deserve recognition for the insane amount of energy you put forth and the hard work it takes to keep pushing your bodies to prepare each set for us! All of you, from the bottom of mii heart—thank you! And as small as this Cast was—amazingly talented! Thank you all for your passion, your tyme, your friendship and most importantly—your energy 🙏

I also had some tyme to catch up with an old friend that I met and worked with on a feature a few yearz ago. Rick Shaibani mah man, it was gr8 being able to have lunch with you and really connect. Thank you, Sir, for your tyme, your friendship and of course—your energy brother 🙏
