Norwegian King crab or Porterhouse steak? Well at @beast.restaurant you don’t have to pick. They are both equally exquisite. The king crab was 3.4KGs of sweet tender meat. Paired with a lemon butter is an absolute delight. Special tip, put a bit of black pepper in the butter and it brings out the flavors even more and balances the sweetness of the crab. The porterhouse aka #tbone steak is one of the harder cuts to cook since it consists of both a tenderloin (filet mignon) as well as a sirloin (New York strip). I challenged the beast to make it perfectly medium rare and they rose to the occasion. I don’t think they cook better steak than me but the UK local beef does have a more gritty beefier flavor than something with a high marbling score from japan or Australia. The dry age really came through and paired with a truffle butter is a bit heavy but very fragrant. The seafood platter was also some of the freshest seafood I’ve ever tasted. The platter consists of oyster, lobster and prawns. Anyways other than the price being ridiculous and a 3 person meal costing £700 (nearly 6k Rmb) this place is a definite recommendation. Oh and to the special someone who recommended this restaurant to me, if you’re reading this, good luck in the UK and I’ll miss you loads, even though we only had limited time in Shanghai and I left for a 10 day business trip on Valentine’s Day, hanging with you was a lotta fun. ❤️
