Eaxo provides a space for artists to explore, create, and collaborate in the scenic and historical surroundings of Crete. You can apply for a stay at Eaxo if you are an artist with a creative education or if you work professionally with your artistic practice. Throughout your residency, you will have the autonomy to work solo, yet the structure at Eaxo encourages opportunities for collaboration and professional interaction among residents. Read more about Eaxo on eaxo.dk.

Application guidelines:

-Artist statement (max 800 characters)
-CV
-Portfolio
-Motivation(max 800 characters):
*Proposed project outline: What will you be working on at the residency?
*Preferred residency dates: How long will you prefer to stay at Eaxo within the semester? We recommend at least 10 days.

Application deadline: 14.06.2026

We prioritize diverse representation across artistic mediums as well as artists’ backgrounds to facilitate international collaborations.

Eaxo has two seasons annually. From March to June and from September to November.
The board of Exao is responsible for awarding residencies. We focus on keeping costs at a reasonable level. The cost is 255 euros per week for the stay (we encourage you to apply for funding). Some accommodations are complimentary.

Greek-based artists are eligible to apply for a free spot.

At Eaxo, you are provided with a workspace and accommodation throughout the stay.

You will stay in your own private room with shared bathrooms and kitchen.

We look forward to welcoming artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to Eaxo.

At Eaxo, we have transformed a former gas station into an artist-in-residence. Eaxo is located on Crete, Greece, 800 meters from the sea and mountains, 14 km from the city of Chania, and 8 km from Chania Airport.

5.335.000 kroner.❤️📮

This Saturday, it’s happening – Danmarks Indsamling 2026! 💛

Together with Søren Dahlgaard and Rasmus Kolbe, I’ve decorated some of Denmark’s iconic red mailboxes. Naturally, the work has become part of the Collected Memory series, featuring the handwritten letters.

It was cold, windy, and snowy, and I was almost about to lose my fingers 😆… but it was all worth it! The mailbox can now become part of a living archive, where new owners can contribute their own memories about the value of relationships — while also making a difference for children in forgotten crises.

The mailbox is up for auction via Lauritz.com, with all proceeds going directly to @dkindsamling. If you want to bid, there’s a link in my bio.

Tune in to DR1 on Saturday, January 31st at 7 PM, as we raise funds for children in forgotten crises.
