KNOW WHERE YOU COME FROM, SO THAT YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING” • A Tsonga Proverb

At Maison Sheba, we believe fragrance is more than scent. It’s memory. It’s heritage. It’s the stories whispered to us by our elders, the wisdom that grounds us when the world feels loud.

This Heritage Month, we are proud to put forward African artists who tell a different story — artists like @sotc_brand whose work reminds us that our past is not behind us, it’s within us.

We want to hear your story
What is a proverb, a saying, or a lesson your gogo, your mother, or your elders taught you that you still carry with you today?

Share it in the comments below — your words might inspire our next chapter.

UMOYA 🌬️

My brother @masaukomusic and I birthed this song so very long ago, but my perfectionist brain hid it. And now I think it’s about time it sees the light. Additional guitar by the blessed @mongezintaka. Visuals by my favorite illustrator and newfound younger brother @sotc_brand
