Well… here we are again. Blown away by all the little creative, thoughtful and beautiful gifts we have been given these last two months. You inspire us to take little gifts on holiday with us to make others feel the way you make us feel. Thank you isn’t enough. From sticker being left on our lock for when we arrive, to coffee, magnets, painted stones, pins and hand knitted manatees. They are all really special to us. THANK YOU GORGEOUS SOULS. You make the world a better place to be. #iceland #travel #gifts #surprise #grateful

Hallmark is looking for the Merriest Christmas Town in America… Plot Twist: I’m a Christmas loving American living in one in Iceland! 😂🇮🇸🎄

The tiny town of Vík has the kind of Christmas magic you’d think someone created for a movie:

✨ An iconic church beneath dramatic mountains
✨ Black sand beaches & towering sea stacks
✨ Cozy little houses glowing in the winter darkness
✨ Sheep wandering through town
✨ Fireworks over the ocean
✨ And skies that make you stop in your tracks

But the magic of Vík isn’t just what you see…

It’s the people. ❤️

This is a town built on community. Where locals, newcomers, families, dreamers and entrepreneurs are all building something together.

- People open businesses.
- Create events & unforgettable experiences.
- Share traditions.
- Help their neighbors.
And somehow turn a tiny village at the edge of the world into a place that feels like home! 🏠

That’s the part you can’t put on a movie set.
This is just… Vík. 🇮🇸
And somehow, I get to call it home.

So while Hallmark is searching America for their next Christmas movie… I’ll just be over here living in mine! 😉🎬❤️

Hey Hallmark… you know where to find us:
📍 Vík í Mýrdal, Iceland

Would you watch a Hallmark movie filmed in Vík, Iceland? 💫

It’s finally pride month in Iceland! We celebrate Pride everyday but this weekend we always shine a little brighter. We welcome everyone with open minds and open hearts. Gender, religion, sexuality, race and ability. You’re all a part of our beautiful space we call Skool Beans. Not every person can be as free as we can be here in Iceland and in Skool Beans. My heart bursts with pride seeing how every staff member here gets involved and celebrates all the colours. We get a fair bit of abuse because of our flag flying all year. Faceless comments, suggesting we should fly the Icelandic flag instead of a pride flag. Everyone has their reasons and their choice and we make ours. Please be kind. Respect our choice and if you feel a need in you to make a public nasty comment, just take a moment. Take a breath. Ask yourself, do I want to hurt someone today, a stranger who might be having a really hard day already, or would I like to do something nice for someone today. Choose kindness, even if it’s the simple act of not leaving a negative comment. Thank you xxxx 🥰#prideiceland #pridereykjavik #pride iceland

If you can’t find me… I’m probably lost in one of their beards! I’m well into my 40’s now so I guess it won’t be long before I start to catch up with them! This team are all merging into each other! Saying the same thing, finishing sentences and singing the same songs! I think the next few months will be a lot of laughter and … beards! #beardlove #beardtakeover

People see how busy we get but it’s having a connected team that makes it work. It’s the KEY to the success of Skool Beans and finding the right person is really hard. BUT!!!!! We give a massive welcome to Daniel who is jumping in for the rest of the season! 4.5 months to go!!! He smashed his first week only burning himself 84 times, hitting his head 234 times and bumping into us 987 times… all taking it like a champ. The team love him, the 5 star reviews are coming in and he accepted us for who we are too. I mean… that’s the hardest part. Welcome to our cult Daniel! Glad to have you onboard. #newguy #newjob #iceland #family #welcometothefamily

What do we do on our days off… we live. THANK YOU @midgard.base.camp @midgardadventure for the BEST day in þorsmörk! What an awesome guide Carlos was!!! HIGHLY recommend these guys for a great day. With an “off the beaten track” style, you’ll have a great time. Small groups, AMAZING food and just really really great vibes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ would absolutely recommend! #thorsmork #hiking #iceland #highlands #offthebeatenpath
