A few shots from the 17th. First and foremost, thank you to everyone who came out and everyone who continues to support Stone Grove.

Truth be told, the last few sessions I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants moving and transporting the sound. I say that because maybe I need to ask for help and be more receptive to it.

One of the goals of these sessions is to bring kind hearted people together and introduce the experience to new folks. Doing sessions in my basement has the right vibe and setting, but limits the opportunity to open things up to the public.

If these events interest you, or maybe someone you know, please share and help this community continue to grow.

Beyond thankful for the friendships and the crews that consistently come out to give these dances life.

Upward and onward.

THIS SUNDAY!
(10/4) Stop by the @bok_bar for a DJ set from @brotherlydubs 4-6pm (weather permitting). Plenty of UK dub/roots vibes to accompany our screening of DREAD BEAT AN BLOOD + LINTON KWESI JOHNSON IN CONCERT beginning at 6pm. Chill with some heavy sounds on the rooftop then catch the original dub poet on screen, only at Lightbox. The Lightbox Film Center is located in the BOK building at 1901 S 9th St, Room 219F, Philadelphia, PA 19148

3THW - Tough to describe how special and fulfilling this session was.

Anders from @souldragonsoundsystem_philly was pretty much the first person I connected with in my area when I put the sound out into the world. He is the link for many people in this area and beyond.

Leon from @houseofrootssoundsystem inspired me to build and pursue Stone Grove Sound. His sessions changed the trajectory of my focus. Even down to fundamental things, like using one turntable—I was influenced by how deliberate he was with his selections and his intention to spread roots music.

Both have been incredibly supportive and kindhearted. Their knowledge of the music and sound system culture runs deep.

This session was beyond a privilege, and I’m lucky to call them both friends.

Thanks to @artillerybrewing for being part of the event. Respect and love to everyone who came out and continue to support. We have something special going here.
