@yoyokafamilyband @yoyoka_drums @aifurusato @tulipsinharmony @naomiozawa.musician #Yoyoka #AiFurusato #TheBakedPotato #TulipsInHarmony What a night at The Baked Potato in Studio City! YOYOKA, 17, a renowned drummer, joined Ai Furusato, 15, a pianist who entered Berklee at just 13, for an electrifying duo performance. Thank you to YOYOKA's father for the invitation and to Tulips in Harmony president Naomi Ozawa for including me! Even a 95-minute rush-hour drive couldn't dampen my excitement. The crowd erupted in whistles and applause. Afterward, Naomi and I took photos with the young stars. Offstage, Ai shyly whispered, “I'm 15,” a sweet contrast to her commanding playing. I can't wait for her next LA show! It was wonderful seeing the YOYOKA Family Band, whose four members moved from Japan to pursue YOYOKA's musical dreams. Their talent and dedication amaze me, and little brother Shido's affection for mom Rie was adorable! Catch the family band at Tulips in Harmony's five-act Kumamoto relief concert, October 25 at Norris Theatre!

It was such an honor to perform before @angels game last night! @yoyokafamilyband We all worked together to make it happen, and we were so happy to see everyone enjoying our performance! (Our dad @soulmarkifme was even performing and running the PA at the same time! 😆) So grateful for all the amazing performers, especially @atara_ara , and a huge thank you to @djbrokk @keitar_hagiwara Tak, and everyone who helped us! We just wish the Angels had won! Hopefully we can come back and help get the crowd excited again someday! Thank you so much to the Angels for having us! ⚾️

It was such an honor to finally meet Ian Paice in person and have the chance to really talk with him! @deeppurple_official Our connection began when Ian reacted to my drum cover of “Burn.” During the pandemic, we collaborated online on “Space Truckin’,” and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. When I decided to move from Japan to the U.S. to take my music career further, Ian wrote a very warm and supportive recommendation letter for my artist visa. I have so much respect for Ian, both as a drummer and as a person. And what an incredible show! Everyone was amazing, but of course, I couldn’t take my eyes off Ian’s playing. I was completely blown away! (My brother @shido_soma seems to have become a huge @simonmcbrideguitar fan!) Thank you so much for inviting us and for everything you’ve done for me. I hope to see you again very soon!
