I was asked a few months back to compose an intro for the Hymn “Tis So Sweet” for the recent SEC Camp Meeting. I absolutely LOVE orchestral music so any chance I get to write something I jump at it! 😍 The inspiration behind the music came from Jesus encouraging us to have child-like trust and faith in Him so I wanted to create something that felt nostalgic and magical like Disney and DreamWorks ✨🌙 Because it’s “so sweet” to trust in Jesus I wanted to incorporate a lot of jazz harmonies to give that lush and velvet feel, (notice it in the middle and end sections). Also took a lot of inspiration from @soundsgood intro for “Who Would Imagine a King” and @mattjonesmusick(two the best frrr👌🏽)🔥🔥🔥
I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did 😁

When AI randomly unlocks a childhood worship memory you didn’t even know you needed. 🙌🏽❤️

Quick storytime about how AI helped me remember an amazing gospel group from my childhood. Suddenly, all those memories came rushing back.

So grateful for music that stays with you for a lifetime. ❤️ And a special thank you to @soundsgood for helping create music that clearly left a lasting impression on my younger self and still does all these years later. 🙌🏽 #ljsreellife

I've mentioned many times that I'm a huge fan of Al Jarreau (RIP) and Bobby McFerrin. When I moved from Turkey to Germany in 1989, I was lucky enough to find and buy all of Al Jarreau and Bobby McFerrin's albums up to that point. They both sang together on one album: Quincy Jones' (RIP) "Back on the Block" (a fantastic album), especially the song "Wee B. Dooinit." But there were other singers too, an a cappella group called Take 6. They were fantastic singers and could sing great harmonies. I became a fan of Take 6 (10 times Grammy Winner).

In the following years, I bought every single album and listened to them hundreds of times. I had the opportunity to see them live a few times in Germany and the last time in Istanbul in 2014.

Here I'm showing my Take 6 CD collection. There are probably more, but I couldn't find them.

Words cannot express my awe at @take6official , composer Omerror Dawson and arranger Mervyn Warren [ @soundsgood ]. This was so beautiful that I wanted to experience playing it. Check out Take 6! This was on their 1990 album So Much 2 Say. #vocaljazz #gospelmusic #jazz #saxophone

Covering “Only Hope” from A Walk to Remember, will always feel a little magical to me… it’s one of those songs that just holds you. One of my favorite movies as well, came out 2002

and it’s so special because one of the songs we’re working on right now carries that same kind of feeling… quiet, emotional, and honest 🥹
