I wanted a lead role. So I wrote one.

I’d never written a screenplay before, but I knew the kind of woman I wanted to play. Complex, flawed, intelligent, messy, and capable of making some spectacularly questionable decisions.

So I created Sofia Bennett.

What I didn’t realise was that I was about to become a writer, producer and lead actor all at once.

And what a ride it’s been. 🎬❤️

What an incredible ride that was! After a very intense 5 days, we’ve wrapped this part of the filming of Private Practice with these heroes.

Shot over three locations in Oxford, we’ve got all but two scenes shot.

Private Practice is a story about the quiet ways that power gets used and abused. The only way a film like this gets made properly is with focus, generosity, and a talented team. We were very fortunate to have the right people to bring this emotionally complex story to life and we’re so grateful to every one of them.

Two scenes left. We're back on location later this month to finish them.

What you can see taking shape in these frames exists because people chose to back it. If you want a hand in getting it over the line (maybe even with a credit in the final film), the Greenlit campaign is linked in our bio.

Stay tuned for more insights from behind-the-scenes.

We really did this!

Set the goal, pushed through and made something special. A film that tells parts of my story, my way of thinking and more importantly; the stories of people that mean the most to me.

Shout out to the team that made this entire project possible 🙏🏽

Some on-set stills from @xanthepajarillo’s documentary ‘Kids Make Horror’ that I’ve been working on for a little while. Been great to work with everyone involved with this project ✌️

These shots in particular are from a couple of days back in October where our doc crew followed the production of @thefinalvariation, a horror short film made by a group of teens
