Guest DJ Introduction
#sat #17oct @omahongkong

Vence(VG+)

What started with drumming shampoo bottles using his toothbrush as a kid, has evolved into dropping warm and adventurous grooves as a DJ. Vence is on a constant expedition to dig up new vibrations, revealing his devotion to spark dancefloor euphoria. As co-founder of VG+ he is rapidly gaining traction across Asia, while connecting music lovers with the art of vinyl djing.

Growing up in The Hague on the coast of the Netherlands, Vence was exploring dancefloors and collecting music as a youngling well before he took up DJing. Casually easing into mixing in his early 20s. In 2017 he moved to North Africa, where he quickly became part of the vibrant Tunisian music scene, playing for many clubs and events such as‘ Wax Bar’, ‘Yuka’, ‘Habibi’ as well as the influential ‘Downtown Vibes’ collective and the mesmerizing Tunisian ‘Woodstock festival’.

Halfway through 2021 Vence moved to Hong Kong. Quickly becoming a regular performer in Hong Kong clubs like OMA, Acadana and leading underground institution 宀 club. In the latter, his sound has been able to mature and evolve, sharing the stage with the likes of Jason Kendig, Rey Colino and Quest.

In September 2023, Vence co-founded VG+ together with Sunsiaré. VG+ is a vinyl-centric endeavour that includes a club night, online record store and media channel. marking a fresh presence in Asia, the project is dedicated to showcasing the art of storytelling, long adventurous sets and everlasting club music.

After a brief rest from last month’s jubilant anniversary, VG+’s fourth year begins with a real treat. Highly esteemed selector and household name, Carl H, returns in similarly jubilant spirits. With his label @animalsonpsychedelics having just reached its 10-year milestone, he brings a wealth of experience, a sharply defined instinct for energy management, and an unquestionably eclectic and superb bag of records to make you grin like the devil.

Joining him, Maxi (formerly maxi.milian) returns with his well-established sense of building atmosphere in this room. His invigorating story-based openings aim to untangle the webs of chaos earned through the week, and lure out free spirits to unite in the glowing oomph of our dancefloor.

To mark the occasion of VG+ turning 3, our long-term sparring partner S.O.N.S returns for an all-night-long feast for the ears.

S.O.N.S forges paths in the vinyl format through his adventurous DJ sets and Seoul-based record store, Junction. Having settled in the city over 10 years ago, he has been part of the local electronic music community development and is currently resident of the renowned Ring club, at the heart of the Itaewon District, as well as the promising new club Hertz.

With several well-received releases under different aliases (Dj Jacuzziy, Prophecy 47...) and collaborations (Forest Witches, Giorgio Celeste & The Cobra), he divides his time between making incredible music in the studio, supporting his ever-increasing customer base, and digging compulsively for new yet unearthed music.

🌀A night dedicated to sound, selection and connection.

On August 29th, Vinyl Session returns to GUM.

Bringing together three selectors whose practices are rooted in different approaches to sound:

🇭🇰 @soundsofvence

Co-founder of @vgplus__ , Vence’s approach to music is shaped by years of collecting, digging and moving between different scenes. From The Hague to Tunis and Hong Kong, his selections reflect an open relationship with records — where groove, rhythm and unexpected connections become the foundation of his sets.

🇭🇰 @anysssaintilan

A long-time member of the VG+ community, Anyss explores the deeper territories between Techno, Acid, Progressive and Trance. His sets are built through patience and progression, allowing records to unfold gradually and create their own sense of time.

🇰🇷 @zoonpark

Zoonpark is a Korean DJ based in Seoul and the founder of Nué, a house and techno venue he opened in 2023. Rooted in Seoul’s independent music scene, his selections move between timeless sounds, deep grooves, subtle textures, and hypnotic atmospheres.

Three selectors. Three distinct musical languages. One shared devotion to records, listening and the dancefloor.
