It’s been such a whirlwind of events that I honestly didn’t even have a moment to share the footage from my birthday. 🥹

I’m still landing from Burning Man, and with so much happening these past few weeks, I’m only now finding a little moment to pause, look back, and take it all in.

My birthday ‘Galactic Gypsies’ was truly magical. A full-day experience, co-hosted with my dear sister @ndreau as we celebrated our birthdays together. ✨

To everyone who showed up, brought their love, their energy, their gifts, their talents, their presence- I’m so grateful for you.
Thank you to every beautiful person who contributed to making that day what it was. To @micaelaromero @rejazfdz @vanessa.a.borja for helping with the production, @omarsiddiqi__ for capturing moments and a surprise singing, @kylaquinnsings for a delish soundjourney, @soundsofzaia @tatewari.music @_adrianmf @clau.huesca.world.music for the beats, @matorinmusic for violin tunes, @gift.of.god777 for a divine dance performance and pulling me in, @marikavera for my outfit, @pablocentineo for a bday song…

It was so much more than a party. It was a moment of community, connection, play, beauty, and love.

And after a whole month of celebrating, all I can really say is: I am so deeply grateful for this life.

For the people who surround me. For the love I’ve received. For the friendships, the laughter, the unexpected magic, and for being held by such a beautiful tribe.

My heart is very, very full. 🤍

Thank you for making this celebration so special.

And thank you, life, for this new chapter. ✨

i didn’t know nico all that well. a week together in the dust, 2023, a few messages after. hearing of his passing this week hit me harder than i expected.

the year of the mud, my first burn. camped at sacbe with my partner at the time & my dear galão friends. that’s where i met this frolicking angelic being.

nico was always frolicking. some kind of fairy wizard energy floating through camp, & every time we saw him it ended in a laugh. she & i had a whole bit going. there he goes, captain frolic. when we finally let him in on it he laughed so hard. after that he’d catch us laughing from across camp & know exactly why.

earlier that week he’d invited us onto the robot heart bus for his set. then the storm came & the playa went quiet for days. in those in between moments, not knowing if the man would even burn, our bond grew. long talks about music, life, consciousness, his story. he talked about his dreams in a way that made you want to go create something.

last morning after the burn the art cars finally rolled. we found nico on the RH bus & watched him work his magic as the sun came up. we stayed up top after his set. laughs & tears, holding space for him as the playa lit up. it was easy with him, like we’d known each other another lifetime.

packing up camp we dropped in one last time. temple burn was his fav & it was that night. he invited us to stay one more, but we had a house in nevada city to get to. a couple days later he messaged askin if we made it ok & sent photos of the temple burn.

rolling into the house there was a sign with ‘Frolic’ carved in. a beautiful synchronicity.

he was booked to play camp summerdaze this weekend, my hometown festival. i’d made a note to message him about dinner, days before the news.

everything his community has shared this week is the same man i met. the openness, the way he gave you his whole self in whatever time you had. i only got a glimpse & it stayed with me for years.

fly high my dear brother. thank you for the music, the inspiration, & the moments we shared. i know you’re out there frolicking through the galaxy, smiling down on us all.

all my love to his family, his friends & everyone who held him close. ♥️

Life happens fast 🌷

The overcast weather vibe has had me feeling nostalgic as a big season of my life comes to a close..

May is a particularly hard month for me in which I honor the passing of my ancestors, my Mother, Father, Uncle, Grandma, & Grandpa, who all transitioned within this month.

It’s been one year since my Pa passed on Memorial Day (flower offering to the ocean was for him), so I decided to tattoo the word faith “FE” with his ashes on my hand to remind me that life is going to have challenges and no matter what happens it’s safe for me to trust in myself and in the unknown.

For a change, this May brought a lot of joy, magic, opportunity, connection, love.. memories that are etched forever in my heart as a reminder that life does get sweeter after the difficulties.

Grateful for these lands, community and prayers. I wouldn’t be who I am without taking a leap of faith into the unknown & trusting in the evolution of it all.

Once again I find myself at a big life change, trusting that what’s coming is going to be even better, savoring each moment while learning how to expand my capacity to hold more.

I’ve changed, and I’m loving this new version of Her ❤️
