We’re all connected by the same goal: seeing Houston’s music community thrive. And part of making that happen is ensuring musicians know about and can take advantage of the resources available to support them.

The @resetcommittee.htx’s July Town Hall was a reminder that Houston is filled with talented musicians but there is still a disconnect in getting connected to resources that can help everyone build their careers right here in the city.

That’s one reason music business development is a core area of focus for the Houston Music Advisory Board again this year. A thriving music ecosystem isn’t built on talent alone. Musicians also need access to the knowledge, tools, professional support, and opportunities that can help them build sustainable careers.

So, we’re sharing a few organizations and resources available to help support different parts of your career:

🎶 Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts (@talatexas)
🎶 The University of Houston Law Center’s Entertainment Law Clinic
🎶 Blaze Unlimited (@blazeunltd)
🎶 SoundSync Music (@soundsyncmusic)
🎶 Houston Professional Musicians’ Association (@afmlocal65699)
🎶 Track Society (@tracksociety5o1c3)
🎶 Houston Music Conference
🎶 Mayor’s Office of Special Events
🎶 Texas Music Office (@texasmusicoffice)
🎶 Fresh Arts (@freshartsorg)
🎶 Houston in Color (@houincolor)
🎶 Houston Arts Alliance (@houstonartsalliance)

Follow these orgs + get connected! And if there are other resources Houston musicians should know about, share them in the comments.

And if you’re a hip-hop artist in Houston + you’re not following @resetcommittee.htx, this is your sign to follow and attend their next event!

Culture moves in rooms like this.

For four days, DAWA (@dawaheals) x Venice (@venicemusic) are hosting a cultural experience built around music, conversation, and community, from live performances and podcast tapings to panels, film screenings, and workshops. Thank you to the @openwav_official team our official ticketing partner for the event.

If you’re in Austin, this is where creativity and connection come together. 🤝

That’s a wrap!

Another sync camp in the books, this time in Fort Collins, CO! Huge thanks to our creative partners @soundsyncmusic and most of all The Music District for their tireless work to open doors for artists and songwriters in Colorado giving them tools for success!

And of course, thanks to our guest music supervisors @thegreatmindino and @uprootedjon for bringing good vibes and amazing briefs to inspire the sessions! Cheers to many more collab opportunities to come!
