✊🏾🪴Mon.6/16 @8pm:Rooted & Ready ✊🏾🪴 Rooted & Ready: Tradition-Based Research for Performance & Battle Clarity Workshop By @jlbrickhouse This workshop is for artists who already move with skill and are now asking why, how, and with what impact. Offered as part of Urban Artistry’s Freestyle Fundamentals during Soul Society Festival, this session focuses on how research into specific dance traditions, lineages, and cultural contexts can refine your choices in performance, presentation, and competition. Understanding the roots is not a limitation, it’s how we optimize creativity and make meaningful personal contributions to the form. When we move with knowledge, our freestyle becomes more than expression, it becomes cultural dialogue. Through guided discussion, practice, and intentional freestyling, participants will receive tools to deepen their artistic purpose, strengthen their clarity under pressure, and sharpen the connection between legacy and innovation. Monday, 6/16 @8-10pm 🎟 $25: Register on the Mindbody App or In Person 📍Urban Artistry Dance Academy: 11308 Grandview Ave. #200 Silver Spring, MD 20902 @soulsocietyfest: June 15th- 22nd : Workshops, Panels, Battles, and more!
