Kicking off #v22 with some grapes that will become my first wine - Alpine Chardonnay from a beautiful site, 40 year old vines. Tiny quantity, baby steps, one foot in front of the other.

Another treat from the Alpine Valleys, Souter's Vineyard GewuĢˆrztraminer is new on pour this week. Kay and Allan tend some of the oldest vines in the valleys and @billybuttonwine winemaker Jo Marsh finishes the job. The result - a beautifully complex cool-climate white, with a pronounced minerality tempering some of the usual gewuĢˆrz floral'n'fruit characteristics.
