Mayar is this beautiful little girl. At 9 one morning, in Gaza, her dad was lighting a fire to cook breakfast at the bottom of their stairs. The neighbor was with him and the kids playing around them. A sudden blast occurred. The neighbor died. Abu Hassan stayed conscience witnessing it all, but he was bleeding out for 4 hours.

The hospital had so many injured, each worse than the prior. After 2 hours, he was told his baby Hassan did not survive. He did not get to say goodbye. He was approaching his baby, from a distance, when he had fainted.

His daughter Mira also passed away. She was 12. Israel took her body. Abu Hassan was volunteering by doing burials, but he could not bury his own Mira.

They were told Mayar has to be amputated, but she refused, taking the risk. She came to Cairo, with her mom, as a medical evacuee. They were able to save her leg. This visit is a full circle, as Hassan & Sitara were in her surgery months ago.

Her dad finally joined Mayar, lucky to be 1 of few men who get med evacuation. His leg would have survived but the treatment was delayed too long, fungus growing. When asked one thing they desire, he said they just miss Gaza - home, food, everything.
