. THERAPY & SCIENCE Science is increasingly confirming what we’ve witnessed for years on the water: sailing changes lives. 💙 Research into Blue Mind—a term coined by marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols—shows that being near, on, or in water can reduce stress, lower anxiety, improve mood, increase focus, and promote emotional wellbeing. The gentle movement of the ocean, fresh air, sunlight, and connection to nature help calm the nervous system and create a powerful environment for healing and growth. ⛵️ For the children we serve, sailing is far more than learning to skipper a boat. It builds confidence, resilience, teamwork, leadership, independence, and self-belief. Every time a child takes the helm, they discover something profound: “I can do this.” ❤️ Through Sailing Therapy, we are helping young people navigate life’s challenges while creating brighter futures—one voyage, one smile, and one Science is increasingly confirming what we’ve witnessed for years on the water: sailing changes lives. . The power of a Story 🌈 In the townships, ganglands, and underserved communities of South Africa, many children grow up surrounded by hardship, uncertainty, and limited opportunity. Yet a single story of hope can ignite a spark. A story of courage can build belief. A story of possibility can inspire a dream. ❤️ Yesterday our team visited #masiphumelele and x3 Early childhood Development Centres with @masicorp The story of The Little Optimist is more than a feel-good tale—it’s a movement and our stories create belonging, community, hope, and purpose. They remind children that their circumstances do not define their future, and that they too can dream big, believe in themselves, and chart a different course. Because when a child sees what is possible, hope becomes action, and dreams become reality. 💙⛵ #TheLittleOptimist #Storytelling #Belonging #Inclusion DreamBelieveAchieve SailingThroughLife ChangingLive

Kalantis | Southern Wind 108 The new Southern Wind 108 Kalantis is the third model in the SW108 series. This innovative design combines offshore sailing with contemporary style and features that enhance onboard living. Measuring 32.77 metres in length, the project is notable for its exterior and interior design, which was developed by Nauta Design. Its profile is characterised by a flush deck, a lowered deckhouse and expansive glass surfaces that promote continuity between the interior and exterior spaces. One of the most interesting features is the Seaside Lounge aft: a transformable area in direct contact with the sea, which increases the potential use of outdoor spaces, both at sea and at anchor. This solution reflects a growing trend in contemporary yachting: the creation of multifunctional spaces that can adapt to different situations and requirements. The interiors, on the other hand, focus on contrasting dark woods with light finishes and making the most of the natural light provided by large hull windows and a skylight. The layout features four guest cabins, an open-plan living area and spaces designed for comfort and liveability during long voyages. Kalantis sees Southern Wind continue their collaboration with @nautadesign and @farr_yacht_design in the pursuit of high-performance yachts designed for ocean cruising. #VelaeMotore #SouthernWind #ThePerfectBalance

. Today we Celebrate 💙 We celebrate the ocean that fuels our healing. Our #sailingtherapy programmes for marginalised and at‑risk youth are based on the connection with the ocean and help us deliver Blue Mind healing and therapy—a mindful, ocean‑aware path that fosters resilience, empathy, and growth. 💙 - Blue Mind healing helps calm the nervous system, improve focus, and nurture connection with nature. - Our programs pair guided ocean experiences with trauma‑informed therapy to build coping skills, self‑worth, and community. - By engaging with the sea, youth learn stewardship, teamwork, and optimistic storytelling about their futures. 💙 Today we honor the ocean’s lessons: patience, rhythm, and vast possibility. Join us in supporting youth to ride the waves toward healing and brighter horizons. 💙 #WorldOceansDay #BlueMind #OceanTherapy

. We are the lucky ones 🙏 Today we visited the heideveldbaptist feeding program run by Pastor Vernon, his family and Dawnay. This is one or our community impact hubs we support with funding , logistics and our staffing. 🌈 Thanks to the program co- founders and funders , the Hartmans @tristanamente - we have ensured that over 4000 hot meals will have been served to these children by the end of June. And it’s not only the meals . As important and possibly more so , is the #safespace that has become a sanctuary of love and mentorship in an otherwise gang- ridden under resourced area. The church’ and community centre offer a safe and spiritual place for these children , where nutritious meals, education , opportunity and fun are offered. ❤️ We are so honoured to be part of this community and family program of doing good. It was beautiful to visit and spend time with the kids , the Hartmans and the Heideveld team. It’s our mission to do even more for this group. Please let us know if you can help with food donations or funding. 📸 of @gregbertish and @dee_jamaar_ , the Hartmans and all the kids. #happychappie #feeding #sailingtherapy heidevel

. Dance, dance, dance ! 💃 The girls from @heideveldbaptist have been waiting for auntie @tristanamente to visit them again. Last year Tristan taught them all in the art of dance . It was a day that they will never forget. And Today , one year later, just in from her home in #sanfrancisco , she organised a real special dance class for the young ladies. 🇺🇸 Today, she surprised them by taking them to a professional and “real” dance studio for their personal dance class. A studio and experience beyond their wildest dreams. 🕺 All the young dancers had massive smiles all day and had an absolute blast. Even some of our instructors got to learn a few new moves Well done @amircpt25 👊 Thanks again to Mark and Tristan Hartman for all the support and love they continue to infuse into our @littleoptimist projects and communities. And thank you Pastor Vernon and Dawnay for all you do for these kids. You help to offer opportunity and new passions like this, which gives them a glimpse of a whole new and better world. A world that they did not even know existed, until now! ❤️ #dance #danceclass #opportunity #inspiration
