There are a lot of great restaurants in Philadelphia, but these are five I keep coming back to.

Some are neighborhood favorites, some are worth crossing town for, and one is probably on every Philadelphia restaurant list ever written. I don’t care. I still love it.

📍 @southwarkphl | Queen Village A beautiful old bar, a seasonal menu, and a neighborhood restaurant that manages to feel both special and completely comfortable. One of my favorite places for dinner in Queen Village.

📍 @bastia_fishtown | Fishtown Corsican-inspired cooking in a gorgeous dining room. It’s the kind of restaurant that makes planning a night out in Fishtown feel like a very good idea.

📍 @parcrittenhouse | Rittenhouse Square Yes, Parc. It’s an obvious choice, but there’s something about the bustle of that dining room, the sidewalk tables, and the view of Rittenhouse Square that never gets old.

📍 @tgktavern | Bella Vista French bistro food, an excellent wine selection, and exactly the kind of lively, unpretentious atmosphere I love in a neighborhood restaurant.

📍 @forkrestaurant | Old City One of Philadelphia’s longtime dining institutions, and for good reason. Thoughtful, contemporary American cooking in a beautiful space that still feels like a special night out.

a $350 tasting menu at @ambraphilly in Philly and genuinely one of the best meals we’ve ever had. we sat in the kitchen, got to watch everything come together, and loved every second of it. definitely a splurge, but such an unforgettable way to celebrate my 30th 🤍

We’ll start the event with an honest conversation about what it’s actually like raising kids in this complicated youth sports world: the overscheduling dilemma, supporting a kid who’s thriving, encouraging a kid who’s finding sports challenging.

All proceeds benefit Skilladelphia’s low- and no-cost sports programming for girls and nonbinary players.

When you grip and rotate the ornate brass knob on the knotty wood door at @southwarkphl, you pass into something eternal. There are so many details to notice that maybe you haven’t noticed in its 22 years — the last decade of which under the stewardship of @marnuts and @cm_dambro — like the marble trunk of the beer fountain or the antlers above the exit sign or that, maybe, in the realm of bar snacks, peanuts are peanuts compared to fried macaroni.

Really pumped for two upcoming events. On 10/3 Skilladelphia will host a women’s networking event and fundraiser focused on helping women navigate the youth sports landscape in healthy ways. The event will be led by local women leaders (includinf @coachdianerich and @lizmoorebooks) and is followed by a happy hour at one of the best spaces in town, @southwarkphl. Also, don’t forget to register your player or team for our first 3 on 3 tournament, taking place during the 9/26 @theneighborhubphilly 49th Anniversary celebration. Special thanks to @homeappetitphilly for always supporting our efforts as well. Excited to have you on board!

As “Summer Fridays” and vacation season come to an end, we’re gearing up to go back into the office full-time with a round-up of chef-driven lunches throughout Philadelphia🍴

🥙For a scratch-made, healthy meal, treat yourself to lunch from the wood-fired kitchen @stina_philadelphia on Tuesdays - Saturdays at 12PM - 5PM.

🍝 @southwarkphl will now open for lunch in the bar area on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30AM - 2:30PM, serving up menu favorites, like their signature Bucatini and Mussels.
