a few seconds of a moment i’ll carry for a very long time.

to be in the room again with a woman who has shaped so much of who i am was a gift i don’t quite have words for. the last time i got to work beside you was the third quarter of senior year in high school. so much life has happened since then, and getting to witness the woman you have continued to become, to watch you grow, change, create, and conquer, has been one of my great privileges.

to enter your process again, to be held by your work, and to move through something so deeply personal alongside you felt like coming home to a part of myself i hadn’t visited in years. your genius seeps through your veins, incomparable and entirely your own. you deserve every drop of joy and beam of light finding its way to you @soymakesmoves @s.0.y 🖤

A Grain of SALT(2) | Until the Lambs Come Home 🐑

Tonight we celebrate former SALT Company member and Contemporary Director at @summit.danceproject Sawyer Player, who recently received first runner up at the 2026 Choreographers Cup hosted by the Dance Educators Collective @danceeducatorscollective! 🧂🎉

Sawyer created “Until the Lambs Come Home” in 2025 for SALT2’s Spring Concert and it truly was a showstopper. From stunning visuals, thoughtful prop work, to a distinct movement vocabulary, Sawyer built a world full of intention and nuance. Congratulations Sawyer and we thank you for your artistic vision and an incredible piece that will certainly live on. 😍✨

i’ve learned that being afraid doesn’t mean i shouldn’t do something—it means I should be brave enough to try.

i was scared to fly across the country by myself but i didn’t let my fear stop me from doing something i really wanted to do. because of that this was one of the best experiences of my life.

to sawyer thank you you so much for trusting me me to be in the piece there really is no one like you i will forever be great for this opportunity to dance beside such incredible + talented dancers so thank you so so much

to the people i shared the stage with you all are so incredibly inspiring. thank you for welcoming me in with open arms and open hearts i have so much love for each + every one of you. PEANUT BUTTER + JELLY

Choreographers cup 26’

Where to find the words! Being able to be a part of this process has been an experience I will never ever forget. When you take a group of humans as devoted as this and give a choreographer as incredibly inspired as sawyer the ability to create, yeah that’s magic.

Sawyer my heart goes out to you in ways I can’t really articulate. The growth I’ve been able to experience through working with you has been pivotal and is something I cherish very dearly. Thank you for trusting me to be a part of this.

To my lovely cast members, thank you for accepting me into an environment that was seemingly foreign and making me feel at home. I’m so grateful to have been able to experience this with such lovely souls!

Choreographers Cup 2026!

I am so honored to have received First Runner Up. To be considered amongst this group of eighteen finalists is one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. Meeting these artists in person was so humbling. Every work was so personal, vulnerable, and inspiring. I am fueled forever.

I was so lucky to have my family there to see this moment. Their love means more to me than anything. I got to watch my piece sitting next to my mom in the front row, who will always will be my greatest role model. What a gift.

To my cast:
I do not have the right verbiage to explain how grateful I am for my relationship with every single one of you. Thank you endlessly for your dedication and devotion, and most of all your trust. The mutual support makes all the difference. You were absolutely electric with passion out there. I love you all.

To the women cheering for me the loudest, @toniablomquist @jaclynweisenbeck @hannahgossett__ @_mia_soleil_
You keep me afloat. Nothing would be the same without your encouragement and friendship. I couldn’t love and appreciate you more. (Keep forcing me to put myself out there, Tone-dawg.)
