Meet Julia B. Aguiar (@juliabaguiar) & Carlos Bocai (@carlosbocai) — instructors of the Decoding Identities course. We sat down with the Brazilian duo to discuss their creative journeys, the challenges of standing out in a global scenario, and their educational approach emphasizing critical thinking and multiplicity rather than “formulas for success.” That’s why they created the Decoding Identities course, which has attracted over 150 students to date. Read more on the bio link. Last days to apply for next class: Oct 29 — Dec 12

Project designed by Rodney Montenegro (@soyquembre) and Paige Enslow (@stewart.enslow) in the Decoding Identities course led by Carlos Bocai (@carlosbocai) and Julia B. Aguiar (@juliabaguiar). SOM is a brand identity system for an MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) playlist. An identity built to represent the unyielding Brazilian culture of love, joy and protest. Through its geometric graphic flourishes and bold wordmark, a system is born that is empowered to be flexible and dynamic. From tote bags at listening parties to DJ Sets at home, SOM is a playlist that aims to spread the sounds of Brazil to the world. The next Decoding Identities class: Oct 29 — Dec 05 We have scholarships! Learn more at the link in the bio.

This week we had the last First Thursday of the year! We made pressed flower coastersinspired by @britandco, and by my MA:DW entry. It was a great piece to keep for your yourself but also makes a wonderful gift for a loved one! . I can’t believe I took this on three years ago and it’s still going strong. 3 years of teaching both myself new things and others, it’s been quite the journey. . #firstthursday #diy #diycrafts #agencylife #diygifts #doityourself #crafts #pressedflowers #flowerart
