On October 2, The Brutalist’s pre-launch and exhibition in Los Angeles came together through the artists, performers, chefs, partners, and collaborators who shaped its sound, material, food, and atmosphere. This carousel is a look at some of the people who brought the magazine beyond the page and made the first gathering possible.

The Brutal Glasgow Trail is here!

Following the success of our Brutal Glasgow exhibition, we're taking it out into the city...

From 6–28 August, discover eight @nebo.peklo illustrations installed in venues across Glasgow, each located close to the Brutalist building it depicts. Explore the city's post-war architecture, uncover the stories behind these remarkable buildings, and see Glasgow from a whole new perspective.

Visit all eight locations and collect stamps as you go – either in a printed trail booklet or digitally using our web app.

🏃‍♀️ Think you can complete the trail first? The first person to visit all eight stops, share their achievement on social media and tag us will win a special Brutalist-themed prize!

Everyone who completes the trail will be entered into a prize draw to win some fantastic Brutalist-themed prizes, courtesy of @space.play

Some of my photographs from a visit to the abandoned Expo ‘92 site on La Isla de la Cartuja, Seville...

Held from 20 April to 12 October 1992, Expo ‘92 celebrated the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s voyage to the Americas under the theme The Age of Discovery. More than 100 countries took part, each with its own pavilion.

During its six month run, the exposition welcomed 41,814,571 visitors. Attractions included a cable car system, a monorail, and a full scale Ariane 4 rocket.

Today, much of the site is abandoned, blocked off, or surrounded by houses and apartment buildings. In the second picture there is a hot air balloon attraction from the Isla Mágica theme park, which now occupies part of the former exposition site. #brutalism #sevilla #expo92sevilla

It’s 40 years ago in September since I started my BA(hons) 3D Design: Ceramics course. This is a miniature replica of, what was then known as, Wolverhampton Polytechnic School of Art & Design. I spent three, very happy years there with some wonderful people who have remained friends of mine to this day. Space Play make these super models of brutalist buildings from around the world, fittingly they are cast from concrete! I’ve circled where my work space was in the second and third year in the second pic.
