You said bass, I bring bass.

Some of you folks dm‘d me asking how the matamp sounds with bass. My conclusion: it sounds great BUT I’m not too sure about the loudness in a live rehearsal/gig setup. I feel the gt150 or gt200 would be a better fit for bass REGARDING TO LOUDNESS. You should go and check out @space__wolf for that topic, he’s rocking that amp loud and good! Tone wise, the gt120 sounds awesome if you ask me, whaddaya say?

In this clip you can hear the input 1 gain range. Eq wise the bass boost, bass and treble was around noon, presence was around 2 o’clock.

I’m no bass player, so don’t judge my sloppy playing but these tones give me some preeeetty cool doom/stoner vibes.

⚡️HMWB ⚔️ GT200 ⚡️

A fun comparison that @tedbizon3 asked me about! @deancostelloaudio HMWB Lo input versus a @matampofficial GT200.
Boosting with the @acidrainpedalworks. @tedbizon3 Spear of Longinus.

Let your ears be the judge! Only note l’ll add is that my iPhone can’t capture the HMWB’s insane low end, it’s unreal!

I found a bit of solace tramping through the woods next to my house on Thursday with this bass, trying to find the right spot for some photos as my usual photo location is currently off limits. This is the first Healer bass with a new spin on the shape. It shares some contours and dimensions of a J-bass, which is longer and wider than the standard Healer, making it a bit more familiar so to speak. Incredible flamed Koa top and neck wood. Lightly figured Mahogany body core and brazilian rosewood fretboard. Abalone dots, tortoise headcap, pickup rings, backplates, binding, knobs and switch tip. I made the knobs on a my neighbors lathe after laminating sheets of tortoise material, thanks HB @heatherbeckdesigns !!! I also hand shaped the switch tip, quite possibly my favorite detail on this bass. Special thanks to @argonaut_guitars for the templating and CAD expertise too. The pickups are made by @curtis_novak_pickups, Thunderbird neck and bridge and Burns Tri-Sonic middle, the secret weapon. I'll make another post about the wiring but the third knob is a Varitone switch made by @rothstein_guitars. 34"scale, 1.75" nut, fat C shape, @hipshotproducts Vintage 20mm bridge and Lollipop tuning keys. Ships out to @space__wolf in CA on Monday and I can't for him to receive it. This thing is a monster. ✌ #healyguitars #healyhealer #curtisnovakpickups #electricbass #healerbass #4stringbass #koa #thunderbirdpickups
