What a night!! We at DOF NYC teamed up with @spaceforarts for our summer event, and it was FUEGO! We screened “A Spark Into a Flame: Hamilton in Hip Hop,” and getting to share this documentary with a room full of people who felt every bit of it was a full circle moment. Huge thank you to @riggysmallz for trusting us with this story and giving us the opportunity to bring it to life. Watching the crowd’s reaction reminded us exactly why we do this work. We also screened an episode of our original series “The Brk-Thru,” and seeing this audience connect with it the same way was just as special. It’s confirmation that the stories we’re building matter. This is what we’re about. We’re here to uplift our stories and the people telling them. Getting to do that alongside a project as personal as this, with Lin-Manuel Miranda’s story at the center of it, was a dream come true. To everyone who came out and celebrated with us, thank you. This is just the beginning. 📸 @slumppadre #DOFnyc #SpaceForArts #TheBreakthrough #HamiltonInHipHop #asparkintoaflame

We are incredibly proud to officially announce our role in bringing this project to life. Our brand-new documentary short film, “A Spark Into a Flame: Hamilton & Hip-Hop”, is officially out now on Disney+ and featured as part of the Hamilton Collector’s Edition Box Set. What started as a creative concept brought to us by Riggs quickly evolved into a profound mission for our team. Our goal from day one was to honor the artistic genius of Lin-Manuel Miranda by putting a microscopic lens on his immense impact on the hip-hop community. This project was a true labor of love, dedication, and elite execution. It would not have been possible without our phenomenal crew who poured their passion into every single frame. DOF presents The Breakthrough, an original series about life changing opportunities. This episode focuses on @thekidmero meeting @arze Ezra Koenig and uncovering an unexpected connection before the fame, Ezra was a teacher in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, pre-gentrification. By then, Ezra was already a global superstar with Vampire Weekend, while Mero had also been a teacher in the Bronx, quietly building his own path. Soon after meeting, they begin creating something much bigger than either of them planned. This is The Breakthrough. The team: Executive producer: @riggysmallz Director: @navegantenyc Producer : @superomgmt DP: @james_weber Location: @hudsonyardsloft Special thanks to our locations partner @spaceforarts #breakthrough #kidmero #ezrakoenig #dofnyc
