In July, we launched our first ever Chinatown Summer Arts Program 🖼️ in collaboration with @newdesignhigh! 🏫

In a week, these wonderful high schoolers created their own physical art portfolio 📒 ranging in a wide breadth of artistic practices including:

✍️writing
🖊️markers
🧑‍🎨watercolor
🗡️block printing
✏️colored pencils
📰✂️collaging
⛲️urban drawing at Washington Square Park
🖋️and black and white ink.

💫Teaching and learning from these kids gave me such deep hope in the world. The desire for creative self expression is so alive in all generations.

🫶 Thank you so much to @newdesignhigh, @sparkcampuslibrary, and @apexforyouth for being wonderful partners to work with. I can’t wait to keep working together to bridge the gap to create accessible arts education for all. Big thank you to @kintsugi.print for teaching a block printing workshop and to @colorfactoryco for working with us on such a wonderful field trip! And another thank you to @apollobagels for supplying us with delicious 🥯🧃

We are continuing to work on grant funding to not only continue this program next year 😮 but build out a robust arts elective program at @newdesignhigh. More to come! 🎉

Was so grateful to have @kintsugi.print as a guest instructor on the second day of Chinatown Summer Arts Camp! 💕

The kids loved this activity and really enjoyed the tactile hands on nature of block printing! Getting to watch high schoolers connect with a new art medium inspires me to keep trying new art forms too, and reminds all of us that play is always the goal ✨

Happy summer! The youth are the future!! 🤩

Culture, community, and the beautiful game—all in one place, all for a cause. We’re honored that @rawcuts.tv and @ahmedspins are bringing this energy to @NewDesignHigh and putting the young people at the center of it. Master Class with Ahmed Spins during the school-day and DJ concert fundraiser at sunset! Hit up the link in our bio to purchase tickets or to donate!

Impossible without true partnership! We see you @sparkcampuslibrary @designyourfuturenyc @theshop.ndhs 🫶🏽✊🏽🙌🏽

Copped from @rawcuts.tv ⚽ Thursday, June 11th World Cup pop up fundraiser with @ahmedspins ⚽

Summer is here, the city is buzzing, and the World Cup is uniting nations. To celebrate, we’re bringing together two things we love most: music and community.

Joining us is Morocco’s own @ahmedspins, a true sonic storyteller whose uplifting grooves and global sounds connect dance floors around the world. For this special occasion, we’ll be transforming the rooftop soccer pitch at New Design High School into a 360-degree open air dance floor. Thank you @nikefootball for the support to make this happen. Stadium energy, sunset in the city, a celebration of football, culture, and togetherness.

All ticket proceeds from the event will support The Hip Hop Re:Education Project (@hiphopreeducation) at The New Design High School. Through Hip Hop culture, DJing, music production, and storytelling, The HHREP empowers young people to help them discover their voice.

This will also be our first ever alcohol-free event.

Both Ahmed and members of our team know firsthand what it means to navigate an industry so often centered around drinking. Together, we will create an environment rooted in presence, connection, and intentionality.

⚽ All proceeds donated to the Hip Hop Re:Education Project
⚽️ Alcohol-Free Event
⚽️ No phones. No VIP
⚽️ The dance floor is for dancing.
⚽️ Culture and community first.
⚽️ Respect each other, the space, and the artists.
⚽️ Smile! Events are fully recorded.

Our last #GoodVibesCafe at @newdesignhigh of the school year was indeed one for the record books! It was an afternoon filled with storytelling, music, community and ultimately joy! Big ups to @aneesafolds and @oghiemonster for shining your light and sharing the love with our young people. So many of them saw themselves through you and your gifts! 🙌🏽🙏🏽 The students and teachers were absolutely buzzing the day after with excitement and inspiration…a true testament to what school should feel like!

A special shout to @rotsworldwide for being our “Principal for a Day” and for donating to the event so that each of our college essay slammers walked away with a cash prize! Everyone’s a winner!!

And of course big ups to @sparkcampuslibrary and @theshop.ndhs for your continued support!
