Sparta Indoor Percussion 2026

I think this is the coolest thing I've had the privilege of taking part in so far.

When I decided to audition for Sparta for fun, I didn't know I'd find myself here. I'm so grateful for all the lessons this season has taught me, and I wouldn't have done a single thing differently if I had the opportunity to do it all again. I did not expect to make the line at first, then I didn't expect us to have more than two quads in November, then I didn't expect us to perform on the UD Arena floor I've been watching with nothing but wonder for so long. This season has only defeated all of my expectations, again and again, as well as beating anyone's expectations of what NorCal can do, and it's been awesome to experience.

I'm not sure what I expected to learn going into this season, but I think any expectation I could've had would've been way off anyway.

Thank you all for an amazing season 🧡

[69 (nice)] My first DCI show! DCI Capital Classic, 5 July 2025

Most of these photos are taken by @king.charles65 because I can't take good photos for some reason—

It was really a blast to go see some of my favorite corps and some awesome friends at my first DCI show. I don't think I'll ever forget this experience, including the fireworks that went off during the Vanguard, Boston, and Mandarins shows.

I loved seeing all the shows and just being completely there for a time. My favorite was Boston obviously but one can't help but be blown away by all of them when you're there in person; it truly adds a layer of depth and understanding I didn't quite have before. Seeing the art through a screen is beautiful, but its distanced from the hundreds of living, breathing performers that work tirelessly to put a smile on everyone's faces. Going in person gave me an opportunity to get a closer look at all the individuals that made up all the ensembles, as well as all those who helped with setup, cleanup, etc., including (I think) Daniel Gutierrez who was sitting behind me during the Boston show??? Never thought I'd meet him in person. Did not get a photo but that was a nice surprise.

It was also a ton of fun to have lunch first and goof around at the playground after, running through the mini water park until we got tired and had a few delicious strawberry smoothies.

Thanks for reading all that! Have a beautiful day <3
