We’re hiring at Poon’s!

We’re looking for someone who wants to get involved in a growing food business, with the curiosity to learn how it works and the willingness to take on responsibility.

Your starting point will be our wholesale operation at Spa Terminus, Bermondsey. You’ll help manage orders and communicate with our stockists and distributors, making sure deliveries reach them as they should. Packing orders and arranging despatch will be a significant part of your day.

You’ll get to know our award-winning products and the people who sell them, with plenty of new products in development too. For someone with an interest in sales, there’s scope to develop the role towards winning new stockists and growing existing accounts, with commission as part of that progression.

We’re open to different backgrounds. What matters is that you take care over your work and follow things through. You should be comfortable using computer systems - knowledge of Unleashed and Xero would be helpful - and most importantly, enjoy building relationships with people.

A keen interest in food helps too! So does being happy to get stuck into the practical work that keeps a small business running.

Based on site at Spa Terminus, Bermondsey.
Monday to Friday.
Salary based on experience.

Interested? DM us and we’ll be in touch.

If someone comes to mind, please pass this on.

And just like that, it happened. I am beyond happy and grateful, Gracias a mi dios 🙏 thank you @spaterminus for being our safe haven where we can produce this awesome hot sauce @malvadasalsa and thanks to all of you for believing in our product.

Do you want to know the feedback of the judges? pls check it out down below ⬇️

⭐️⭐️ out of 3, honestly a massive deal for us ✨

GREAT TASTE FEEDBACK: Please note, the
feedback below is from several tables of multiple
judges who have assessed your product.

MALVADA SALSA

⭐️⭐️ 2-star

This is a brightly coloured salsa with a homemade
feel. There is a strong heat hit at the start of the
journey, which grows into a pleasing complex warmth
which develops into a complexi range of flavours and
some sweetness. It is a fresh, light product. This
sweetness develops from the onion. Sweetness and
smokiness arrive on the palate at different times,
making for a complex eating experience. Scotch
bonnet adds brightness and heat. There is a
pleasingly long finish to this salsa.

This product has a lovely vibrant color, nice texture
and inviting aroma of roast pepper. On the palate
there is a little sweet pepper before the heat of the
scotch bonnet kicks in and overpowers everything.
We felt this may benefit from a little less heat to
allow all the ingredients to come through.

Much as you describe, this is a smoky and fruity
salsa with quite a kick! Both the bell pepper and
Scotch bonnet aromas are to the fore with other
ingredients supporting. The seed content proved a
little divisive, but we enjoyed the warm, rounded heat
rolling round the palate and persisting pleasantly
alongside a contrasting sense of freshness.

☀️ 17 Years of Oliveology! ☀️

As we celebrate our 17th birthday, we are looking back in memory of the 12 incredible years spent at our previous location—our beloved Voyager railway arch at @spaterminus.

Talk about rollercoaster years! That arch saw it all…

✨ Joy, laughter, creativity, love and community.
🧑‍🍳Meetings, wine tastings, cooking workshops, supper clubs, catering and late-night recipe testing.
💪 Freezing hands, sweating, stressing, lifting, building, delivering and packing endless olives.
❤️ The highs and lows—falling, failing, grieving, rising, and growing.

Through all the sleepless nights, Greek smells, feta, oregano, olive oil, olives and wine, you were there with us. Thank you for being such a massive part of the Oliveology family.

📍 We can’t wait to make new memories with you at our new home! Come visit us just around the corner, still at Spa Terminus: 3 Spa Arch Lane.

💬 Did you ever visit us at the Voyager arch? Share with us your favorite memory in the comments! 👇🤍

My personal wine paradise exists. It opens on Saturday mornings only, and it’s five minutes from my door.

Dynamic Vines at Spa Terminus — I’d been meaning to visit for two months, and last Saturday I finally walked in. They specialise in exactly my kind of wine — natural, biodynamic, alive (kudos to Biologist’s Igor Petrenko, who shaped how I think about all this). They sell @radikonwines. That’s already enough. But also producers from across the world, each one chosen with a clear point of view.

Last Saturday there was a tasting of Ktima Ligas @domaineligas — a Greek winery from Pella, near Thessaloniki — and the winemaker herself was pouring.

Meli Ligas took over from her father Thomas, who started all this in the 1980s when everyone else in Greece was planting Merlot and Chardonnay. He went the other direction: indigenous varieties nobody wanted — Xinomavro, Roditis, Kydonitsa — farmed biodynamically, no additives, no shortcuts. Meli grew up trailing him through the vineyards and into the mountains to forage herbs for vine treatments. Now she runs the domaine.

We started talking. I mentioned I was Ukrainian. She lit up — she’d been to Ukraine, during the war. She loves Ukraine.

Her wines are really good — and they’re available in Ukraine through Sabotage Wine @sabotage.wine (my favourite, naturally). Friends back home — go find them.

I’ll be back at @dynamic_vines at @spaterminus this Saturday. I think I found my place: people who share not just a love of wine, but a love of this kind of wine. Can’t wait to discover more.
