Happy anniversary sweetheart, i want to share something with you and my friends that you may already be aware of. When we met, I was a shadow of the man I used to be. Hard broken by a couple of the worst years of my life. But then you stepped into frame, what felt like the lighting of a fire in the middle of the night. comforting, serenity, a domain of stillness in a shifting darkness. You grabbed my hand and told me you understood. Through that understanding we found rarity in each other. shared music, poetry, faith, laughter, pain, tears, and a sense of belonging. I don’t think you helped me out of the brokenness instead what you did for me was so much more. You created space for it. Allowed me to speak what I had buried. In doing this, I became so much more than I thought capable, I felt and feel like a man again and not just a return to normality but I surpassed some of myself. Thank you for being you, thank you for being as strong as you are, I hope I develop half your strength. I thank you for your smile even when the world doesn’t deserve it from you. Thank you for your taste in culture, your willingness to see the world and the understanding of the arts, for it reminds me of the humanity in life. And above all else thank you for grabbing my hand the way you did. I am honored to be by your side. I love you Sarah more than an Instagram post is worthy of. Happy anniversary
