Walking this experience back…
Morehouse may be the most special place I’ve ever been. It makes it easier to leave my first born 10 hours away. The whole week was filled with love, intention, ceremony, tradition and connection.

You won’t see a photo of me after — the tears were many so we’ll go with a before.

Simon loved the history of campus.

We have a little story about Spike.

People lined up 2+ hours before the parting ceremony. Us Michiganders sat uncomfortably in the 90 + temps and humidity. We were able to enter early because the kids despite not having tickets had a special invitation.

These two always have more faces than you can count.

Seeing Marvin in his Morehouse shirt and tie for the first time. Let the waterworks 🥹 begin. A woman was selling Morehouse embroidered handkerchiefs — good thing we got some.

Another moment of favor, because we went in early we had special seating and as luck would have it — Marvin was in the row right next to us, just one row back. It incredible to share this moment so close. Other events we couldn’t pick him out of the crowd.

The President and First Lady of Morehouse are acquaintances from Ann Arbor, Lucy and their daughter, Jordan were classmates and we were able to connect with them over the week.

Elevate: Nothing Promised, Everything Earned 🎥

For several weeks leading into the NBA Draft, Elevate Alliance ran an exclusive pre-draft program at The Legacy Center in Michigan, a space where futures were decided.

Players stepped into a process that demanded everything physically, mentally, and emotionally. NBA trainers pushed them. Interview prep sessions sharpened them. Recovery kept them alive for the next day. NBA scouts walked through the gym. Flights in and out for team workouts, pro-days, or combines became routine. Every moment tested who they were and who they could become.

By late June, they weren’t just players waiting for a chance. They were professionals with their next chapter secured with several overseas contracts, Summer League opportunities, and official NBA agreements.

This documentary tells the story of that in-between space: the sacrifices, the setbacks, and the belief that carried them forward. Nothing was promised, but everything was on the line.
