Glimpses of Chasing Adaptation 🧊

A few moments from our evenings at @betterpress_roma.

The photographs from our Lofoten expedition and the drawings of @federico_ruxo: whales, cod and red suns above the fjords, and nautical charts where faces and moray eels blend into the coastline. All around, people pausing in front of the images, conversations, a glass in hand, wine from @icaro_vino, beers from @pour_roma.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, to those who stayed longer than planned, and to those who left a few words on the sheet.

And the exhibition isn’t over: it continues this week too (more info soon).

GENE HUNTERS 🎬
Gene Hunters racconta quella strada.

GENE HUNTERS 🎬
Every photograph in the exhibition is an arrival point. Before it, there's the road: the snow, the wind, the slow pace of someone walking through the cold with a question in mind, how do we adapt when the environment shows no mercy?
Gene Hunters tells the story of that road. It's the documentary we made to tell the story of our research, and on Friday, October 9th we're screening it to close Chasing Adaptation at @betterpress_roma.
Setting the scene: wines by @icaro_vino and beers from @pour_roma. On the walls, until the very end, the works by Vert Project and @federico_ruxo.

GRAZIE ROME FUTURE WEEK 🚀

THANK YOU ROME FUTURE WEEK 🚀

Melting glaciers, heatwaves, missions to Mars. Every environment, even the most extreme, leaves a trace inside our cells. This (and much more) is what @vazzinski shared at Celeste: Beyond the Stars, the space-dedicated Future Hub of Rome Future Week, at Industrie Fluviali.

Thank you to @romefutureweek and the whole Celeste team for having us. And thank you to everyone in the room for the questions and the curiosity: a conversation we can't wait to continue.

See you tomorrow at BioSonic, where we won't talk about stress, we'll listen to it. 🔬🎧

BIOSONIC — THE SOUND OF STRESS 🔬🎧
What if stress could be heard?
For a special event during European Researchers' Night 2026, Vert Project presents BioSonic.
Saturday, September 26th, at the Chasing Adaptation exhibition, we discover what happens when biology becomes a sensory language.
A microscope will project, live, stressed human cells: what unfolds in their invisible world will transform into image and sound in real time, in front of the audience.
Bringing this alchemy between science and perception to life are composer @matteo.ruperto, @soffio_di_nik with his A/V creations, and @vazzinski at the microscope. An immersive audiovisual ritual.
The evening continues with wines by our friends from @icaro_vino.
📅 Saturday, September 26th, 7:00 PM
🎟️ Entry with a BetterPress card (€5) or a free donation starting from €5, supporting the exhibition and the artists.

OGGI APRE CHASING ADAPTATION! 🐋

TODAY CHASING ADAPTATION IS ON! 🐋
For years, Vert Project has studied how the environment shapes our bodies and how humans can adapt to extreme conditions. A research effort we carry forward as a @sapienzaroma, but one we also want to share beyond the lab, because for us, science is also about outreach.
That idea is the seed of Chasing Adaptation: A Visual Journey Into Human Extremes, opening tonight at @betterpress_roma The Vert Project team, together with @federico_ruxo, will share the story behind the Lofoten expedition and the work born from that experience. The evening continues with a selection of beers and ciders curated by @Pour Roma and a food corner by @vetro_roma.
