POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

29 years ago today - October 6, 1997 - I went on the air in Salt Lake City for the first time. 🎙️

But the story didn’t start in Salt Lake.

It started when I was about 6 or 7 years old, when my dad dimmed the lights, told me to close my eyes and introduced me to old-time radio.

It wasn’t until I was in my mid-30s that I finally connected the dots.

He planted the seed.

I wrote about him, the crazy road that eventually brought me to Salt Lake, 33 years in radio, almost three years of podcasting, and why I’m still sitting behind a mic today.

And the coolest part? I still have the old radio albums my dad and I listened to all those years ago. ❤️

The full story is on my Substack. Link in bio.

Casual pit stop and a chat with the spirits of #SpecsHoward.. 👻 a school I went to that’s now abandoned. Because apparently this is what I do with my free time now. 😂 #ghosthunting #ghosthunters #spiritualawakening #detroit

Nothing like getting text messages at 6:15am and finding out this is why 😅. It’s great to be in a place like @local4news that is happy to have me and it’s great to be home. The link to this is in the bio, BTW.

For as long as I’ve been in Southeast Michigan, I’ve heard Tony Ortiz’ voice on the radio. So it was an honor to catch up for this #QuickConversation. And… the Gold Jacket will be ready whenever you want to wear it, sir!
