Nostalgia is my favourite emotion, so nothing beats a good recap for me! Lea (@lea_evangelista), with the current #creativeartwithheart, prompted us to reflect on the year that is ending, and I have gathered some of my favourite looks I have done in 2025 🧡

This year in makeup was all about acceptance for me. I have accepted the fact that I am not the type of artist who has a signature look that is polished to perfection. Most of the time, I am all over the place, and I want to experiment and change directions all the time, and that is OK.

By taking way more makeup photos, and even videos, recently, I have accepted the flaws in my face, real and/or perceived, and have come to terms with the fact that this is the canvas I have been given. You either paint here or nowhere, so please be kind to what you have.

I have accepted that social media can both give you wonderful people to meet and feel incredibly lonely at times, and that is OK too. The benefits outweigh the negative parts, but you have to be mindful most of the time not to compare yourself to others and not to follow any recommendations blindly, especially when people want to sell you stuff.

This year, the world seems to be filled with doom and gloom even more than before, but I am doing fine and I am incredibly grateful for everything I have: the people, the art, the freedom.

I hope everyone reading this will have the most wonderful 2026, filled with wonder, curiosity, and art 🫶

March/April 2023 - Bangkok

I spent years watching the Bangkok scene grow from halfway across the world. I was stoked to have a month to bounce around the city seeing what replaced Immortal Bar and how everything adjusted during COVID.

The first show was a mostly grind show called “Fight For Fuck mini gig 6” at Jam, a place we ended up at a lot. It’s a fun lil cafe/bar off the St Louis Silom stop. This is where I fell in love with local punk band LowFat, whose seemingly elastic singer was just fun to watch and shoot. I also caught them at The Overstay, a fun lil 5-6 story hostel towards the western part of the city where I was introduced to Speech Odd and Zeitgeists.

The more unique shows I was able to catch were two Bangkok Street Noise productions. One under an awkward overpass and another near a dock. These shows started during COVID as a legally-grey way to hold concerts during lockdowns and continued into 2023. Showcased here were artists well outside the punk/hardcore spectrum of shows I had been attending. Artists like The Burning Deck from Goa and local Palm Hassaphon stuck with me. Beautiful experiences to hang out and meet others in the orbit.
