It was an honor and a pleasure to shoot with these studs today at the North Texas Open #NTXO at @ettsgunrange (this place is enormous) It was my first time there and my first MAJOR USPSA match. Boy oh boy, I was not prepared for this. Just when I thought I was making some progress again, the difficulty, along with the heat, made me realize how many levels there are to anything worth pursuing. I sucked and embarrassed myself a couple times, due to basic fundamentals, but these dudes made it fun and fun to watch. Back to more dry firing 🙋🏻‍♂️

Shenanigans with @mclearnoutdoors and heavy-hitting friends at his 1-day USPSA-centric and stage-heavy movement class at @real38america

We ran multiple stages and stage sections back to back with heavy emphasis on the crash, calmness, and movement control. We’d alternate between proper execution and going full aggression to see for ourselves what was going on. Having a few major topics kept things tightly focused and flowing

Nowadays I’m looking at different ideas and approaches to better my own teaching and see things outside of myself. One such idea from Issac is maintaining movement to manage your inertia and prevent sight disruption instead of stopping

One habit of mine he noticed is taking big steps in large and wide transitions on the move. This in of itself is a form of crashing and thus causes the sight to jolt, despite the movement being very small. Something to fix in dryfire. Brandon and I talked about how even though we want to program calmness in our stage runs, if our technique is inherently not calm then it sabotages our stage intentions

Isaac has a good eye as a coach and proves why he’s earned a spot amongst the best in LO

Another great local match yesterday, a lot of guys came out that I haven’t seen or shot with in a while so always nice to have a full match of shredders!! Especially when it’s full of the bois. We had 4 GMs and 5 Ms at this match Pretty good for a local haha.

This was my best stage of the match, executed it pretty well and ended up being the only time under 20 seconds with the guys right on my tail. @average_shooter_brad had 20.70….. hahaha. Always fun to race. See yall at the next!!!.

Stage win.
Overall Match win.

CO gun coming back strong. Feeling good but definitely still getting used to her again!!
