My grandpa introduced my dad to the game of baseball. My dad introduced me. Wearing my grandpa’s 2008 Rookie of the year, @evan.longoria3 t-shirt today felt like carrying a little piece of him with us while celebrating a friend for life. 💙 @raysbaseball is so much more than a game to our family. Thank YOU for the memories.

Happy Father’s Day to the best to ever do it ! So thankful that you passed your love of sports onto me. We have been to probably hundreds of various sporting events from NCAA Final Fours to MLB World Series to high school basketball games and everything in between. It’s been blast & we have many more memories to make. We hope you have a very special Father’s Day. As always thank YOU for everything YOU for our family. We are blessed to call you ours. We love you dad (aka Papa Pete).

Looking at all of the pics from yesterday, I found this one on the @raysbaseball page. I love it so much because you can see @evan.longoria3 waving to the crowd, but when I looked closely I saw my dad in the tropical Rays shirt extending his arm up waving to Evan. This was such a full circle moment because my dad is the one who introduced me into this world of baseball. He is also the one who picked our Rays season tickets to be on third baseline and I never understood why. He would say it was because it was neat to look into the Rays dugout. But then it started to become my fav spot ever in the Trop because of the guy who stood on the bag at third base wearing number 3. For a while Longoria was just a baseball player, I admired from afar make these incredible plays night after night. And then I would see him at various charity events and I started chatting with him. I did a yoga class with him benefiting Moffitt and him and his friend couldn’t stop laughing at this giant Landon head I made that said “Evan Longoria is my hero!” When I say Large I mean like ridiculously large 😂 But it got his attention and from that day he never forgot Landon, I mean how could he forget the giant Landon head I made him snap a picture of. He wore Landon’s Mr. Strong Foundation bracelet for many seasons and even when he left the Rays he still continued to support Mr. Strong Foundation from afar. Longo and I share a love of sports cards so believe it or not, we talk sports cards and it’s just the coolest most unique friendship I could ever ask for. He asks about Landon all the time just to check in. So I will definitely miss seeing him on the field, but I know we will forever be friends. Thanks for the memories Longo💙⚾️ #EvanLongoria #tampabayrays #mlb

Watching @evan.longoria3 retire as a @raysbaseball is a dream come true. My dad, my nephew, @milez_morales @the_designgirl & I all went to cheer on our fav Ray💙 I’m so proud of Longo & all that he has accomplished on and off the field. He’s an incredible ball player, but I think my favorite thing about him is that he is just the most down to earth guy you could meet. I will forever be grateful for all of his continued support of the Mr. Strong Foundation. Today we cheer on the best to ever do it🐐 Thank you for giving Tampa Bay so many memories ⚾️#evanlongoria #tampabayrays

@benripping is the true definition of an authentic individual, who has the heart of gold and wants nothing in return. The other day he asked me for my father’s mailing address. I didn’t ask any questions and DM’d him his address.my father always speaks, so highly of Ben and they have developed a true friendship over their love of sports cards. Ben is such a generous soul that he even donated a very large sum of money to the @mrstrongfoundation our non-profit that provides funding for therapy services (ie: occupational, physical, speech or behavior) for special needs children. The package that arrives at my parents house had two very beautiful cards in it! A stunning @caitlinclark22 auto 🔥🔥🔥 in her @indianafever uniform one that we have yet to obtain, so this was HUGE for our PC. And then an incredible @evan.longoria3 rookie auto ! These two individuals are very near and dear to my son, Landon and I. We always watch sports together and sometimes there are days when he isn’t well enough to leave, but for those few hours that we get to tune into a basketball or baseball game it takes away all the stress of our real world. Ben knew that these cards would mean so much to our family and we are so incredibly excited to add them to our family collection. Ben you’re a one of one my friend. A true Gem Mint 10! Thank you so much 💙💪 #caitlinclark #wnba #evanlongoria #tampabayrays #indianafever

In the month of March, we recognize all of those individuals, who have “cerebral palsy.” Cerebral palsy is a permanent disability that impacts a person’s mobility and muscle strength. We would love to see all of you sporting some GREEN this month and showing your support for Landon & everyone who battles CP on a daily basis. Thank you so much as always for your love & support 💚 #cerebralpalsyawarenessmonth #cerebralpalsy #specialneeds #teammrstrong #green
