From cosmic space metalcore straight into the brilliant indie-pop mind of a Dutch legend! 💿🇳🇱

Today on the player: revisiting the iconic 2002 self-titled debut album Spinvis by Spinvis (from Nieuwegein, Netherlands)! 📀✨

Talk about another massive curveball for this account! Going from the heavy cosmic sci-fi riffs of The Contortionist straight into this is a wild ride, but honestly, this record is an absolute holy grail in Dutch music history! 🙌

What makes Spinvis so incredibly special is how he builds these beautiful, nostalgic soundscapes that completely draw you in from the very first second. Even if you don’t fully focus on the poetic storytelling, the atmosphere inside these warm, crackling grooves is just so comforting and perfect to completely zone out to on a quiet evening. It just never loses its magic! 💫

(And yes, I absolutely had to wear this custom black metal style Spinvis shirt for the photo to keep the heavy vibes alive!) 😜🤟

Where does this debut rank for my Dutch followers? And to my international friends: have you ever explored the world of Dutch indie-pop? 🧡

'Honeyboys' is a surreal VR experience by @nemo.vos exploring delivery culture, online consumption and the gig economy. You follow a naked courier descending deeper into a relentless system with no escape or free will, enhanced with the striking soundscape by @spinvis.nieuwegein.
