Video from @boysbygirls feature “Ledges to Legacy” featuring Jango Godette @djangomaan @clipmodesb Paul Godette @godettesurfworks Jaykawon Anderson @spitfirejay and Daquan Sanchez @d.sanzzz It’s my birthday today. No fooling! Thinking about time and aging, the older I get the less linear it feels. As a creative, my work is so important to me and encompasses so much of my identity. Really proud of this one as it was my pitch and features amazing people who are from and represent everything that’s fantastic about the community we live in, Rockaway Beach, NY. I love shooting active fashion and this team was just phenomenal to work with. So proud of us. This is the kind of project that makes me excited to keep creating even when, and despite the world being on fire all the time. I think its so important to shine a light on the the people and things you love 💕 Photography / production / video editor Me, @jenacumbo represented by @jellybeanpartners Fashion Stylists Bernadet Davood @bernadetdavood and Jamie Huggins @jamiehuggins81 Video DP Brendan Miller @brendan_thomas_miller Grooming Yoshi Sekimoto @yoshisekimotobeauty Writer Selena Aiyla @selenaaiyla Music in video, Zach Surprenant ‘You’ve Got Mail’ TYSM Editor @tessaportraits @boysbygirls Brands included throughout: @privatepolicyny @colehaan @pence1979 @thefrankieshop @pumasportstyle @sunnei @veja @wangda_official @krewe @raised.by.society @isabelmarant @aug11co @california.arts @shao_official @vans @krostnewyork @sandrohomme #Boysbygirls #editorial #skatefashion #mensfashion

Psyched to share this spring skate story ‘Ledges to Legacy’ for @boysbygirls featuring Jango Godette @djangomaan @clipmodesb Paul Godette @godettesurfworks Jaykawon Anderson @spitfirejay and Daquan Sanchez @d.sanzzz Paul and Jango Godette were two of the first people I met when I moved to Rockaway Beach. Welcoming and inclusive, they are two of the nicest people ever. I photographed their 1st Battle at the Beach Contest back in 2018 at the far Rockaway Skatepark. They have been doing it ever since and it gets bigger every year. Clipmode is all about community and bringing people together through skate - so wonderful to be apart of this pocket of NY, I was delighted to get an opportunity to give them editorial style treatment with this A+ photo team for Boys by Girls magazine Photography / production / video editor Me, @jenacumbo with @jellybean_partners Fashion Stylists Bernadet Davood @bernadetdavood and Jamie Huggins @jamiehuggins81 Photo assistant and BTS video Brendan Miller @brendan_thomas_miller Grooming Yoshi Sekimoto @yoshisekimotobeauty Writer Selena Aiyla @selenaaiyla TYSM Editor @tessaportraits @boysbygirls These looks include: Paul - @privatepolicyny Full Look, @colehaan Loafer, @adidas Socks Jaykwon - @pence1979 Denim Vest, @thefrankieshop Shirt, @sunnei Pants, @veja sneakers, @isabelmarant Cap Daquan - @wangda_official Shirt and Shorts, @commedesgarcons trench, @pumasportstyle sneakers, @londonsockco Socks Jango - @thefrankieshop Full look, Vintage @dior Tie, @krewe Sunglasses, @raised.by.society Beanie, @colehaan Loafer

Jango and Paul of Clipmode exist within the rhythm and pulse of Rockaway Beach. Having skated for two decades, they started holding skate contents in Far Rockaway. They set out to form a collective, a group that could treasure and emphasise the energy of a rush. Clipmode is much more than skateboarding. It’s a way of declaring that we need not wait around for space to be created for us. We can carve it out for ourselves.
