A work begins as a question and becomes a way of seeing.

I’m bringing the language of the studio to Chicago this October, where art invites us to pause, look closer, and find our own path through it.

Spent a couple days in Hilton Head giving Carocol some love. Been at this site for 13 years. Some rough spots but over all not too bad! Sealed up with Tnemec 135 mid coat and 195 top coat. She’s gonna be good for a while. Always great to get a chance to spend time with an older work. I remember working on this 13 years ago in Brooklyn. It’s like a little Time Machine! Big thanks to Natalie and the folks @culture_hhi for hosting the piece ! #sculpture #publicart #steelsculpture #abstractart

Whispering Trees, 2026, graphite on canvas, 36 × 48 inches, will be presented by Sponder Gallery at the Chicago Art Fair at THE MART.

This work belongs to my ongoing Love Letters to the World series, where language is taken apart and rebuilt as an equation. Hidden within this field of graphite is a sentence:

The trees whisper your name to me, echoing my silent longing for you.

I have always been drawn to the moment when language becomes image….when emotion can be measured, rearranged, and felt before it is fully understood.

The trees are whispering. I hope you’ll come listen.

I keep coming back to this photo.

Cristin Longo is talking with visitors about one of my new works at a Hamptons fair earlier this year.

I wasn’t there for this conversation, which makes seeing it mean even more.

I’ve stood on Cristin’s side of selling art as a consultant. I know how much goes into a moment like this: the placement, the story, the questions people ask, and the trust built by someone who genuinely cares about the art.

That kind of attention gives a viewer room to form a connection of their own.

As an artist, I rarely get to witness what happens once the work leaves my hands. Seeing people gather around it makes my heart feel strong.

Thank you, Cristin and Sponder Gallery, for believing in the new work and for the care you bring to conversations around it.

Our September fine art auction at Clars includes three large paintings by American abstract expressionist Paul Jenkins. Jenkins worked in broad swaths of color, growing to prefer acrylic to oil for its mutability. He worked in Europe and on the East Coast of the United States and has had many exhibitions and retrospectives at prominent museums. Join us to bid on these beautiful canvases on September 17th. #pauljenkins #abstractexpression #lyricalabstraction #acrylicpaint #americanart

A tribute to Dolly Parton, whose artistry will always remain.

This portrait by Harry Benson captures a quiet, unguarded moment with Dolly at her mirror, backlit and luminous. A true glimpse of the woman behind the icon.

Presented by Sponder Gallery, this piece will be on view at Chicago Art Fair, October 7–10 at The Mart. A small ode to a woman whose warmth reached far beyond the stage.
