Summer ended with drives from east coast to west coast to north coast to east and home again. We unexpectedly ran into many beautiful friends & made some new friends along the way. I never want summers to end but if they have to well that's not a bad way at all. All the gigs & workshops over the past 10 days have been such a joy. @spooky_beore's Megalithomania was one of my top favourite festivals ever. I got to dress up in a bear suit and come out from hibernation as part of their 'Spa Experience'. Highly recommended activity. Their mini golf course was also a highlight. I hope they get to do it again and you should all go if they do. Thanks to Niamh & Helen for bringing us to the ends of the world . @_dietofworms_ gig at @nationalconcerthall was a sonic delight with Dennis McNulty & @venetiantendencies playing ripping sets. Thanks to Ed & Gav for hosting us and for the pizza. We brought 'Around Here, The Birds Plant The Trees' to Derry at @playhousederry. Before the performance we had a panel discussion with Marella from @save_our_sperrins , Laura from @futureoakfarm & Aengus from @naturenorthwest.ie to talk about Land Stewardship. Such an inspirational group! There were a few times that I held back tears during the talk. There's just so many dedicated people across Ireland doing such important work. So much love for the beautiful world we have around us. If we could just find a way to combine all that energy and turn it into a forcefield over the island that the evil extractivists couldn't breach... that would be great. The panel really set the mood for the music that night. Big big love to Tola, Ultan, Ailbhe, Eimear & Willie for playing. And a huge thanks to Paula & all the folks at the Playhouse. Sounds heads one and all. We ended our spin today in Drogheda at the @seancorcoranseries where I talked to nearly half the town about what they think about the church bells of Drogheda. It turns out that 99 percent of the people love the sounds of the bells. Thanks to all the folks who chatted to me today. I'm using the feedback on the bells to inform a composition that I'll be putting together for next year. Thanks to Rósa for organising!

Join one of the following skillsharing workshops: Queer Sheds Mayo 2 – 3.45pm, The Shambles Make some noise with Artist Leon, as he shows us how to make our own wooden woodpecker drums and join illustrator Melanie in a winemaking exploration, using scissors, pens and collage materials to write, draw and share personal stories. Apple Grafting with Etaoin Holahan Learn the ancient skill of apple grafting! Learn to grow your own delicious hybrid apple. Never settle for a granny smith ever again. 2 - 3.45pm, The Shambles Environmental Education Nature Walk at the Céide Fields with James Corcoran Hodgins and Greta Byrne.
