Slowly working on your weaknesses ultimately strengthens your overall performance. Taking care of those little muscles, joints, and imbalances that are easy to overlook helps build a stronger foundation and leaves less room for bigger injuries down the road. This year we’re starting slower and really focusing on making sure everything is solid before we start getting into those bigger lifts. The little things might not seem as important, but they add up and make a huge difference when it’s time to train harder and perform at your best.

Facing the world stage for the first time is scary, regardless of what anyone tells you. I did it at 18, and I couldn’t imagine doing it at just 16 like my sister did. @2jennatunks2 Moments like these don’t define you, how you bounce back from them does. And we ALL know what you’re capable of and how much is still ahead of you.

And to all the other young athletes who have gone through moments like this, every meet is a learning opportunity. It takes time and experience to get comfortable on bigger stages, learn the environment, and figure out how to adapt. Trust your process, learn from every experience, and most importantly never stop believing in yourself.

I think mental health is very important to acknowledge, especially in sports. Anxiety is something I’ve dealt with since I was a little kid. I think it’s important for people to know that it’s okay to cry, to struggle, and it’s okay to ask for help. Whatever you’re battling, let yourself feel it instead of pushing it away. Even when it feels like you’ll never get through it, you 1000% can, because your mind is stronger than you think!

Always an honour to compete on home soil in front of such amazing people. This one was tough, but I found a way through and defended my title. Now it’s time to get back to work and prepare for something big at the Commonwealth Games. 🇨🇦🔥
