Almost two years ago, my brother @spouzie introduced me to film photography, and from the moment he first showed me, I loved it….

Film became one of the deepest connections Jaden and I had shared…..a passion he discovered and we worked on together. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude, my love for film, and especially my appreciation for Jaden for bringing it into my life.
So here are a few of my favorite pictures I’ve taken on film.🩵

@spouzie Was one of my best friends I had on my mission. You were always looking to make other laugh, bring a smile, or find something fun and adventurous to do. I am so grateful for all we accomplished as they were some of the best months of my life. I love you as a brother and I’ll always remember you catching a lizard or snake and trying to bring it home. I know God has a plan and you are one of His choice servants. This is Jaden’s favorite song he would always play in the car. I went on a drive to clear my head and the first song that popped up was your song. Thanks for sending me love and a message of peace brother. Such a message of peace knowing you’re blessing Gods children and cracking jokes up there.

My heart is with Jaden’s family as we all try to find our way through this heartbreak. Grieving him has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to walk through. I’ll carry him with me for the rest of my life. Jaden is one of those rare souls you’ll never be able to forget. His presence left a lasting impression and I know his impact was felt by anyone who has spoke to him

Theres a gap in my world not knowing he was carrying this much pain & I can’t begin to understand the depth of hurt and distress you must have been drowning in, Jaden. This is a reminder that we never really know what someone is going through or if they’re struggling w mental health. Honestly, everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about. hesitation, will always eat at me

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Jaden, and your entire family. I truly hope that you are embraced by love, during this time. Untouched by pain in pure light & peace I dream that you are resting on the side of a green mountain.

I have struggled with thoughts that are dark and uninvited time and time again. It’s a struggle to not only deal with these emotions but share it with the people you love. In an old post I saw reshared by Jaden’s family and friends, it says, “the world is a better place with you in it”. It pierced my body and soul wholeheartedly. Jaden was truly so talented and photographed life in a way that made me want to live more. To enjoy the beauty of nature and love. I think that’s the most valuable thing a photographer can capture. The excitement of youth, the intimacy of a relationship, and the way the sunlight hugs this Earth.

Jaden reached out to Wilby during the construction of the third issue. I was beyond excited to be working with him. I had long admired his work with film and always wanted to reach out but never did. Quickly, he began sending me all his work and asking how he could be more involved. He told me “I love to be able to capture moments in my perspective and being able to share that with other people”. He did exactly that. I loved when he would get a roll developed and send me everything. The photos felt personal. From his numerous trips, concerts, and more. I remember vividly thinking, this man has lived so many lives with so many different people, and so many different places. I yearned to photograph life in that way. That reflected who I was and the things I had done.

The first time I met him was during the summer at our release party, with Cece. He bought five magazines and told me how excited he was to see his photos in print, and to be apart of everything.

It was heavy news when I heard what happened. Despite only ever meeting him once, I felt connected to him through his art and perspective of each photo he took. I am sending so much love to his beautiful soul and his family.
