This was going to be a “learning year” in a new airplane. So imagine my surprise when, at the U.S. National Aerobatic Championships, I opened the canopy to learn that I was in first place after the Intermediate Known flight. Last year, I placed ninth overall. This year, I earned third place overall, thanks in large part to @mike_goulian, who coached me into the right mindset, and @billpilot, who taught me to put the airplane where I want it. Aerobatic competition is incredibly niche. This year, fewer than 300 pilots will fly at a contest in the United States. But, despite the challenges inherent in the trek to Kansas, about 40 percent show up to Nationals. It’s a testament to the intense passion we all share… and the friendships we forge while waiting for the clouds to lift.

US Nationals 2026! Clint made it to Salina on Thursday evening and got a practice flight Friday and Saturday. Other chapter members arrived by the end of the day Friday. Yesterday was the grand opening and we started with breakfast, a briefing, and 800’ ceilings that never got much higher. Apparently New England is not the only place in the country with unpredictable weather.

Had the most amazing week in Oshkosh for EAA Airventure 2026! Proud to represent the AWAA @asianwomeninaerospaceaviation alongside some incredible girls! Not the same without @pilot_anh_thu but got to celebrate at the Memorial Wall Ceremony 😀
