Theatre and film collide in a breathtaking new world of cinematography in Édouard Lock’s ‘Écho’.

An exquisite and dark exploration takes us through Rachele Buriassi, principal dancer of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, (On screen, then on stage) movements set to original music. This is a must-see for any lover of captivating dance and film.

INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY//

International Dance Day/International Jazz Day is a double whammy for us. We’d hoped to be sharing a link to a livestream of a new piece called “suspending disbelief” presented by the NAC and Springboard as part of a series called Danceforth today but alas, COVID-19 has thwarted our efforts once again. We are trying not to be too sad; we are grateful that the NAC has chosen to postpone until fall rather than cancel. In the meantime- here are some photos of rehearsal, I hope the images will bring you some light and hope, and I hope next year at this time, we are all dancing together.

I’d also like to thank jazz music and jazz dance for being in my life, and for being my life. The form, the history, the folk…the folks!!! You know who you are, the love is real.

"You genuinely made me laugh and that is difficult for me as an audience member as I hate to say I am a bit jaded. You two are fantastic dancers, and the dance does serve the narrative well."
