BOKGIVINGS IS HERE AT SPRINGBOK! 🦃🍖🔥 AND AK IS SERVING UP PURE CHAOS! 😂

Forget Thanksgiving… we’re celebrating BOKGIVINGS at Springbok in the 818! 🍻

Our favorite bartender AK gave us the grand tour of today’s FEAST!

🥪 Tuna Melt — Supercharged with tomatoes and mayo. NAKED EXTREME MODE ACTIVATED! 😂

🥔 Loaded Potatoes — Sour cream, cheesy goodness and FUCKING AWESOME!

🍖 FULL RACK OF RIBS — Fall-in-love-at-first-bite goodness, sitting on a bed of special potatoes that deserve their own ZIP CODE! 🤯

And a HUGE shoutout to our neighbors at Best Ball, especially bar manager WES! ❤️

But AK has a message for you, Wes…

“YOUR DOG AIN’T REAL. IT’S AI. FAKE NEWS!” 🤖🐶😂

WES… WE DARE YOU TO POST BACK! 👀🔥

Apparently the real rivalry in the SFV isn’t sports… it’s BARTENDERS VS. AI DOGS. 😂🍻

I think I found the STRANGER THINGS of the San Fernando Valley. 😂👽🍗🍺

These are 3 of the weirdest, most random and RAD spots I’ve found in the 818…and apparently you guys love weird because ALL THREE went viral on Laptop Brunch. 🤯

🍗 Jerk Wings Cafe — Northridge
Off Roscoe + Tampa. Jamaican food hiding inside a building that looks like a GIANT OREO COOKIE. 😂 I drove past it and HAD to know what was inside. You did too: 250K+ combined views on IG + TikTok. @jerkwingscafeca

🧛 Canby Sweet — Reseda
Off Vanowen + Tampa. I drove past this place a MILLION times thinking it was closed. Plot twist: it’s alive…or possibly UNDEAD. 😂 Ultimate old-school dive bar with serious vampire energy. 110K+ combined views.

🇿🇦 Springbok Bar & Grill — Lake Balboa
Off Victory near Lake Balboa. A South African sports/dive bar in the middle of the Valley?! Of course I went inside. Another 30–40K+ views later…apparently curiosity wins again. @springbokbarla

With Halloween coming, maybe the Valley doesn’t need the Upside Down.

We already have the 818. 😂🎃

What weird SFV spot should I investigate next? 👇

Rugby Pubs of America — Episode 2 🇿🇦🍻

Hidden away in Van Nuys is a little piece of South Africa that has served LA’s rugby community for more than 20 years.

Founded by four South African mates who met playing rugby and cricket in Los Angeles, Springbok Bar & Grill was built to give rugby people a place to eat, drink and watch the game together.

The walls are covered in memorabilia, the peri-peri chicken is on the menu, and if there’s rugby to be watched, they’ll put it on.

What a place this will be to watch rugby’s greatest rivalry: South Africa vs New Zealand. 🇿🇦🇳🇿

Where should Rugby Pubs of America visit next?

Tired of the exact same boring sports bar food? 🍻🍔

It is time to upgrade your game-day experience! In this episode, @eatlivelovesfv are taking you completely inside @springbokbarandgrill in Van Nuys. This legendary South African neighborhood pub is breaking all the rules when it comes to standard bar menus.

This legendary South African neighborhood pub completely redefines game-day eating. We sat down to try their incredibly flaky, curried Samosas and their famous Peri-Peri Chicken—a masterpiece of citrus, garlic, and an African-style chili kick.

Add in an award-winning burger, a massive 25-tap beer selection, and that classic "Cheers" vibe where everybody knows your name, and this is officially your new tournament home base. Whether you want to catch a massive rugby match with the local expat community or just grab a pint (just remember the bartender's golden rule: no blenders, no mint!), Springbok absolutely delivers.

Would you try the spicy Peri-Peri or the award-winning burger first? Let us know below! 👇
