Here’s a question I get all the time. My kids watch F1 with me, they love it, and now they want to drive. But the arrive-and-drive tracks like K1 get boring fast. So where do you take them next? I think I finally found the answer. 🏁

Let me be honest about the problem first. My kids love to drive. But finding a quality place to do it has been a real struggle. Every time we’ve gone to the arrive-and-drive spots, something’s off. The karts don’t run right. They’re not set up for kids at all. Half the time one breaks down. And there’s almost no coaching, so the boys never actually learn what they’re doing wrong. They have fun for a bit, but they hit a ceiling fast.

So we tried the next level, the Lupo Kart program at Homestead, run by Squadra Lupo here in Miami, who invited us out. And the difference is night and day. These are real race karts. Set up properly. Fast. And they actually run, all day.

But the real difference is how they treat your kids. Each of them got a private mechanic. Their own guy, for the whole day, setting up their kart, checking it between every run, talking to them like an actual driver, not a customer. They get real coaching, real data, and they start to understand what racing actually is.

And you can see it click. You find out if your kid just likes it, or if they’ve genuinely got something. And doing that together, watching them get faster run after run? Most fun I’ve had with my boys in ages.

My dad was a rally champion. I never raced. So I finally found out if I could’ve, against a real Formula 4 pro. 🏁

Squadra Lupo, a top classic car dealer in Miami, just launched Lupo Kart, and invited me and my two boys out to Homestead. These aren’t birthday-party go-karts. They’re proper race karts topping 100 km/h, run like an actual race team: real coaching, telemetry after every run, and your own personal mechanic for the day.

My coach was Alex Popow, a Formula 4 driver who finished runner-up in the US championship last year. The data changed everything, turns out the carousel I’d been braking for could be taken flat out. My times tumbled from a 51 to a 49.2. Nearly two seconds, just from coaching.

By the end I was within two seconds of a pro. In the slow corners, I matched him. The fast stuff is where he pulled away, where a pro just commits.

So could I have been a driver? It made me wonder.

It’s premium, around $950, currently an early-bird rate. But it’s the closest thing to real racing I’ve done. Huge thanks to Squadra Lupo.
