Primetime @primetimemovie

I love the way this film looks, all the marketing has made it look like an uncomfortable, murky and overstimulating journey laden with unconventional framing and saturated coloured visuals to really sell how ugly and abstract the original tv shows subject matter is and the role Hansen and the viewing public played in the creation or this spectacle in place of getting predators into the hands of law enforcement without the theatre of it all.

The UK is currently 0/2 for Lance Oppenheim 2026 film releases but then end is in sight! I’ve patiently waiting for this film to get a UK release date and I’m not ashamed to admit there was a cluster of days I check the DCM film calendar a crazy amount hoping for news, feels like quite a troubling pattern that is emerging recently with UK distribution this year, this being said the 2 weeks that the UK had to wait for Nope in 2022 were genuinely uncomfortable.

The inspiration for this poster was actually a Marilyn Monroe poster that spotlighted her but I wanted to make it feel like the spotlight was just noise and so ugly that you couldn’t focus on it - I listened to the Danny Brown album Atrocity Exhibition a lot while making this as that sounds like perversion, voyeurism, distortion and how damaging and intoxicating that can be… I hope that gross bad trip vibe is present here.

Primetime!

🎬 One trailer. One idea. 11 hours of work.

After watching the trailer for Primetime, I was genuinely impressed and immediately felt inspired to create my own poster.

I wanted to give the artwork the feeling of a TV broadcast, so I took several frames from the trailer and arranged them like a detective’s investigation board, full of clues and connections.

Then, I came up with another idea: adding glitch effects to create a more striking and edgy poster aesthetic. I placed Robert Pattinson’s character right at the center, surrounded him with smaller scenes from the trailer, and carefully balanced everything with glitch effects.

To give the poster a more artistic feel, I added brush strokes and textures, creating a unique visual style that I’m really happy with.

After 11 hours of work, the poster was finally complete! 🔥

What do you think of the final result? Let me know in the comments!

❤️ Don’t forget to like, share, and follow for more artwork.

Primetime 9/10
𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 somehow feels less like watching a movie and more like getting sucked into a live sting operation. The film follows Dateline NBC host Chris Hansen (played by Robert Pattinson) as he turns 𝘛𝘰 𝘊𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 into a massive, high-stakes obsession in 2006.

I think the success of the film is multifaceted. This is director Lance Oppenheim’s first scripted narrative feature film & I thought he directed the hell out of this movie. The visuals and cinematography are absolutely stunning. Oppenheim weaves in countless hallucinatory effects through different framing techniques, different lenses, different colors, and most of all extreme use of the close-up, something that is so well-suited for Pattinson. I also thought the film’s score helped ratchet up the anxiety & increase tension.

Robert Pattinson’s charisma is off the charts. The way this man holds a close frame is unparalleled. His line delivery, his eye contact, all of it is acting of the highest order. Stunned. Stupefied. In utter disbelief. That’s the only way I can describe how I felt after seeing the things he just pulled off here. Skyler Gisondo perfectly captures a lost, confused, helpless young actor who is mercilessly manipulated by those more powerful than him.

But the reason this film fascinates me is because it’s so complicated. There is no black and white good guy in this movie. This is a film based on massive gray areas. On the one hand, there’s the social commentary behind how morally just Hansen’s work really was: yes, he’s catching predators, but at what cost & for what reason? It forces us as an audience to confront the conflict that To Catch A Predator presents, which is merging social justice with reality TV & public shaming.

PRIMETIME ultimately works best as a fictionalized and unsettling examination of how fame, fear, and the desire to expose evil can become another form of spectacle.

(Primetime)🎬
主演：Robert Pattinson, Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Phoebe Bridgers
Lance Oppenheim執導，
Robert Pattinson、Merritt Wever、Skyler Gisondo、Matthew Maher
.
電影靈感改編美國NBC嘅新聞單元《To Catch a Predator》，

#RobertPattinson delivers another generational performance in #Primetime - portraying a fiery Chris Hansen, host of the hit mid-2000s show “To Catch a Predator”. Audacious, imaginative, and darkly funny, Lance Oppenheim’s sharp satire offers an unsettling look at one of television’s most notorious true crime programs. Kudos to his exceptional co-stars, “Decoy Dan” #SkylerGisondo & a ruthless #MerrittWever. 👏🏼 Awards season is upon us! Have a seat (in theaters near you) on September 25th. 🪑 @primetimemovie @skylergisondo @a24 @squarepegfilms #PrimetimeMovie
