Twenty-six thousand steps beside the sea,
Five miles became eleven… accidentally! 😂
With crashing waves and miles of sand,
And lovely Misia’s adventures unplanned.

Bounding along, exploring it all,
Each scent worth a sniff, each wave worth a gallop.
Sunshine, then a shower that soaked us right through,
Then back came the sun and the skies turned blue. ☀️🌊

Lovely long chats as we wandered our way,
The kind of good company that makes a whole day.
Then home to Seb’s, with tired feet,
For a Polish dinner and something new to eat.

My first traditional dumplings — what a delight,
With extras to take home at the end of the night!
And beautifully made veggie gravy too,
A little more kindness to carry home with you. 🥟💛

Sandy paws, full hearts, eleven miles later,
A five-mile plan became something much greater.
Thank you, Seb and Helen, for food, laughs and cheer,
A lovely day with people I’m glad to have near. 💛

The Rollers BJJ Showcase No. 3.

We had the pleasure of meeting @squiggles.bjj before training at @jaybutlerbjj. Seb is a purple belt, currently signed up to our competition. He is also a member of the @parajiujitsuuk team.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet you Seb. You are an inspiration and we cannot wait to see you on the mats 👊🫲!

Happy Birthday Seb

Thirty-something years ago,
The world was gifted you,
And somehow all these years have brought
A friend so loved and true.

A little bit mischievous,
With that glint we know so well,
There’s an innocent side to Seb…
Or so he likes to tell. 😇

A champion at BJJ,
You’ve certainly earned your place,
With dedication, strength and skill —
And that familiar smiling face.

Then when the cricket’s playing,
You’re watching every ball,
Keeping score and keeping track,
Making sense of it all. 🏏

But even our tough champion
Has a softer side we see,
And nothing brings it out in Seb
Quite like his little Misia. 🐶❤️

She clearly has you wrapped around
Her paw — and rightly so,
Though given half a chance, dear Seb,
We’d steal her, as you know. 😂

But underneath the teasing,
There’s something you should know:
We’re really bloody lucky
To have you as our Seb.

For all the laughs and memories,
The adventures that we’ve had,
The conversations, silliness,
And all the good times still ahead.

So here’s to thirty-something,
To friendship, laughs and fun,
To more adventures together —
Because we’ve only just begun.

Another trip around the sun… and honestly, what a way to celebrate. ☀️🍍💛

Friends flying in from near and far, the garden turned into a full-on party zone, and laughter that definitely carried further than it should have done.

Ned, my co-pilot in chaos, is already scheming next year’s upgrades ✨
Jo arrived with legendary Pimm’s and main-character sunshine energy 🍹
Jenny somehow went from pulling trucks for London Ambulance Charity to gifting me the most thoughtful (and slightly emotional) best friend blanket — I was not ready for that level of softness 💛
David absolutely bossed the BBQ like it was a Michelin audition 🔥
Luke brought deep chats, good vibes, and Duke’s new favourite human status 🐈‍⬛
And Seb & Rich proved once again that the best people always just show up.

The hot tub stayed suspiciously warm, the Prosecco disappeared at an impressive rate, pineapple lights did their thing, and the whole weekend felt a little bit like chaos… but the very best kind.

Sunday was slow, soft, slightly delicate… and full of “we should probably behave ourselves next year” lies.

Birthdays aren’t really about getting older. They’re about realising how lucky you are to be surrounded by people you’d absolutely get into trouble with.

To everyone who came, messaged, or contributed to the chaos in any way — thank you. You made it unforgettable.

Here’s to another year of questionable decisions, BBQs that run too late, and memories worth repeating (or maybe not admitting in public). 🍍🥂💛

Rolled with Me, Episode 3 🎙️.

For this week's episode, I am joined by Seb @squiggles.bjj . Seb is a fellow CP warrior, purple belt and member of @parajiujitsuuk . He is a multiple time @reorgopen_bjj gold medallist and has also competed able bodied.

My goal with this series is simple:
to show different perspectives, challenge assumptions, and hopefully encourage more people with disabilities to step onto the mats 🥋👊🏻.
