CUT PIECE, 2026
Los Angeles, CA
July 18th & 19th

I went into this piece with the intention to honor Yoko Ono and to make relevant a preeminent performance artwork. In the process I questioned what an act like this means in the world at this moment, and how the historical impact of this artwork would land with a socially mediatized audience. The outcome was that at its core, CUT PIECE is a social experiment. It quickly becomes less about the person holding the pose as the focus it presents to y o u : the audience viewing and participating. Do I cut? How do I cut? How are they cutting? What is this?

The piece does not need to entertain.
CUT PIECE watches people.

It exists in a tense “is”.

I left this experience feeling naked, cleansed, and with the embodied reminder: PEACE IS/A CUTTING PROCESS.

keep cutting 4 peace
resistance to the anti-life forces is alive
although much less televised

always ♾️,

What if we valued our resources instead of throwing them “AWAY”?

If we used our own resources would we have to exploit other societies and ecosystems?

We were thinking global, but acting local
